Looking Back: Church Camp 15-18 June 2011

Church Camp this year was from 15-18 June 2011. The hotel we stayed at was Palace of the Golden Horses in KL, Malaysia:It is a big, grand hotel FULL of horses and horse-related motifs. If you tried to count the number of pictures and statues of horses and hoofs of horses found in this hotel, I think you'll lose count half way and just give up.

I went up one day earlier with my parents and brother, on the coach also carrying up the camp committee. This is the second year in a row that I've gone up to Malaysia a day earlier with my parents. So we arrived at the hotel late Tuesday afternoon and watched the movie "Kungfu Panda 2" in 3D - it was the second time watching it for me and my brother, but I still enjoyed myself immensely!

15 June 2011, Wednesday: Breakfast with my parents and brother
The next morning, we woke up and had breakfast together. The breakfast buffet spread was quite good!
We then took the small boat through the man-made canal from our hotel to The Mines shopping mall.

We watched "X-men: First Class" at The Mines shopping mall before taking a cab back to the hotel to welcome and meet the rest of the campers arriving that afternoon.

16 June, Thursday: at Secret Recipe with UKK, Jolene and Alekx
While the rest went shopping or walking in The Mines shopping mall, the 4 of us decided to have tea at Secret Recipe:

I didn't take many photos in the camp, but it was a good camp and it was nice to room with Jolene once again:)

Random #1: SUMMER HAS COME EARLY! The weather these few days have been AWESOME. After Monday lectures, Po Yew, Janice and I made a quick trip to the Millenium Gardens just next to Law School to take photos. The sky is so blue, the sun is so bright, the grass is so green, the flowers are in full bloom... Forget about jackets. In Po Yew's words, which he said very happily, "The girls are wearing nothing!" Magical Christmas 2009 has come 11 months early

It has been snowing most of today, and everything is covered in snow - a beautiful, magical, pretty sight! It really is unbelievable how much snow there now is in Nottingham. Because it's Nottingham! It never snows in Nottingham, at least not for many many years past! Even in London, I heard that it's snowing so much that Heathrow airport was closed, train and tube services were stopped, SCHOOL LESSONS WERE CANCELLED! Why can't we have classes cancelled over here?! When I first woke up, I knew it would snow at certain points of today (but I didn't expect THIS much snow!). Like some Airline video

I just watched the 3+ minutes of the "final chapter" of Little Nyonya, the Channel 8 drama serial that ended last week. [Spoiler alert] I think it is so unnecessary? Anyhow, from the time of 2:59 onwards, I felt like I was watching some kind of Airline video, the one where they would show before the airplane takes off, briefing all passengers on what to do in cases of emergencies and stuff like that? Seeing Chen Xi stand behind Yueniang like that reminds me of when the air stewards and stewardesses on the video would end the video saying, "Thank you for your attention. Have a pleasant flight." Don't you think so? On the topic of Little Nyonya, I read an article from Mediacorp TV about this "Final Chapter" and I really wonder why people are making so much noise over a drama serial such that Mediacorp people have to step out to make further explanation!
