The Pain is back

Image
The Possible cause of my Back Sprain Today, I woke up with throbbing pain at my lower back. I was expecting the pain because last night, I had already begun to feel my lower back muscles become very tight. I tried preventing the pain from getting worse the next day (which is today) by trying to locate a medical patch. "A medical patch?" you may be wondering. Well, think Tiger Balm heat pad. This is my preventive measure every time I feel the pain... approaching. Before I go to bed, I will paste a medical patch at the sensitive area. But this time around, I couldn't find any. I gave up and went to bed. That was the wrong choice. I should have just kept searching because I paid the price of my laziness today. Let me tell you how I got this back problem. The exact, specific cause of this back sprain cannot be found but my family and I have deduced that I probably sprained my back after an exciting, absolutely thrilling, rollarcoaster ride during our Nov 2004 family holiday ...

A Tribute to Shelly Shelby the Tortoise

Image
The one and only photo of Shelly Shelby the Tortoise Quite a number of years ago, I was out on a shopping trip with my family in Carrefour, Suntec City, when I spotted a stationery set which had a cute design on it. It was a stationery set consisting of a box, and within a box, there was a file. The design on the box and the file is a tortoise (View photo above). This tortoise was only given a name early this year, which is Shelly Shelby the Tortoise. Why such a long name you may be wondering, well, her name can also be said in another way. Read it out loud such that it sounds like, "Shelly SHALL BE the Tortoise", because she IS one in the first place! ;) I compose this tribute for her because she has suffered a tragic death. Her very own owner, yes, that's me, has MURDERED her. The murder took place on a fair Tuesday night, the 26th of April. But I must say that I am feeling heartbroken over the murder [In defence for myself, I call it "negligent manslaughter"....

Vanity Fair

Image
This picture is a little blur but it's the cover design of the "Vanity Fair" VCD. Don't you think Reese Witherspoon looks a little creepy here? Anyhow, as I was saying in my previous entry, this story is rather weird. Its storyline is not very captivating. Although I did think the 1st husband of Reese Witherspoon's character is rather good-looking. ;) To let you know a little about the movie, it's actually about a girl called Rebecca Sharp. She was born into a poor family. As she grew older, she was determined to become rich and be of high-status so that she would not have to suffer the way her parents did because they were poor. Rebecca schemes and "sucks up" to the influential people she comes in contact with but ends up falling in love with and marrying a man who was not that well-off and was excluded from his rich aunt's will as a result of their marriage. I'm afraid to say that in her efforts to climb up the social ladder in the society,...

Begin

My first entry! How exciting! I must confess that I've started this blog due to "peer pressure". Even my sister has caught on to the fad of reading blogs! In class, my friends are constantly mentioning how they found each other's blogs and how they have linked up each other, it sounds like fun so I've decided to give it a try! Today, as usual, I spent my entire afternoon in Church. One new addition though, I had a morning exercise of half an hour's worth of running and 40 laps of swimming in a 12.5m long pool. If you do your math, it's 10 laps of an olympic-sized swimming pool, so I feel good about it! Furthermore, my sister and I watched a VCD we bought about a month ago called "Vanity Fair", I'm sure some of you have heard of it. It's a film by Mira Nair and it is rather weird. Not a fantastic movie though. If you're going for classic films, catch Jane Austen ones. ;)
