Don't wish for it

To be brutally honest, I have ever wished to have a tapeworm inside me to eat my food so that it could help me lose weight. Well, I went for some checkup thingy called Bio Resonance Therapy (BRT), something I'll elaborate on in the near future, and it was found that I have many parasites in my body, namely tapeworm and leeches. I was SHOCKED when I heard the practitioner tell me that. She said that it's probably from the food I ate... but... I really don't know when and from what exactly I could've gotten these parasites! Anyhow, I googled "effects of tapeworm" because I haven't seen any major weight loss. And I found out that having a tapeworm does not necessarily equate to severe weight loss. I will get it treated when I come back from Europe with my family. Here, read this article for more info: "What has been known to grow to a hundred feet long and yet lives inside you, most probably without your knowledge or consent? Welcome the tapeworm. Althou...

In Singapore

I arrived in Singapore with my parents on Saturday night. Tomorrow night, I leave Singapore to fly to Barcelona with my family. From there, we will board a cruise ship on Sunday night that will bring us to Naples, Rome, Florence, Nice and Marseilles. This 7-day cruise will then end back in Barcelona, why we fly back to Singapore after. In the few days that I've been back here in Singapore, I've been suffering from the humidity here. The heat is terrible, but I think the humidity just makes it all that more unbearable. I read Boon Yeow & Faith's blog now about winter in Australia and I'm wishing for winter and dry weather too:) Besides the weather, I've been going out pretty much every day. Today is the very first day of proper slacking around at home. Sunday it was church and Elizabeth's birthday surprise at MacRitchie Reservoir. Monday it was lunch and xbox at Jien's. Tuesday afternoon One-Third came over for wii. Yesterday I had some therapy thingy at ...

Live from Budapest: Day 5

We had breakfast at the hotel today. But strangely enough, it was so quiet as compared to the crowd we encountered in the cafe yesterday morning. We still had a good breakfast though and talked quite abit before we left the hotel for what we thought would be our first stop of the day. We went to the Parliament, thinking there would be a tour on the hour from 10am-2pm. But we were wrong. Firstly, we discovered that English guided tours only commenced at 10am, noon and at 2pm. Secondly, we had to queue for quite awhile before we could actually get to the ticket office because security was quite tight in that there was one guard stationed at the head of the queue in charge of 'crowd control'. So, if 2 people came out of the ticket office,he would only let 2 people through the chain to walk over to the ticket office. Thirdly, all the spots on the 12pm tour were filled so we got pushed to the 2pm tour. Hence, we decided to go to our other planned stops first. We crossed the Danube R...

Live from Budapest: Day 4

We had breakfast, as per normal, at 8am today. Although breakfasts are not included with the price of the room per night, we decided to try the breakfast provided by the hotel cafe. When we first got there, it felt overcrowded and we thought we could not have any toast, leading us to the conclusion that we should find another breakfast place outside of the hotel where we could get some toast. However, not long after, we discovered the small toaster hidden amongst other things on the counter. Then we decided that maybe we COULD have tomorrow's breakfast in the hotel too... :) It also helped that within half an hour of our getting there, the crowd cleared up and it became much quieter. Our first stop of the day was St. Stephen's Basilica. It is Hungary's largest church and took more than 50 years to build. My dad and I particularly like this church because it is very different from all the other cathedrals we've seen so far - it is full of marble and gold grandeur. Also, ...

Live from Budapest: Day 3

I am now blogging from KK Hotels Opera in Budapest. It seems like a nice, clean, good hotel just next to the well-known State Opera House, with the metro less than a minute away. The staff also seem really friendly. So, so far, we're liking it here. Today, we barely did any sightseeing. We woke up this morning and had breakfast at the hotel. Then we checked out and took the metro to the main railway station where we took a 7-hour train journey from Prague to Budapest. Before this trip, we did not realise that the train ride would be as long as this, if not we would have probably checked out the possibility of flying instead. Anyhow, it was a really good experience though. This is the main railway station in Prague: Inside the train: The next door carriage was the restaurant wagon, which really looked like a cosy little restaurant. The menu seemed like something you'd get in any restaurant on the street, not on a train. Well, we were really expecting just a bar selling snacks, b...

Live from Prague: Day 2

We had a good breakfast from 8-9:30am today at the restaurant just outside of our hotel. Breakfast comes together with our hotel stay and there was a good variety of food to choose from! There was toast, pastry and cooked food like scrambled eggs, sausages and bacon. There also was a whole spread of other foods like ham, egg, tomatoes, yoghurt, cereal, cake and mini strudels. The drinks offered were the usual coffee, with its different types, and what amused me was the juice they offered... MULTIVITAMINS JUICE? It basically tasted like fruit punch, haha. Our first stop of the day was at the Powder Tower. It is one of the last standing remnants of the Old Town's original fortification system. The name derives from the tower's early purpose to hold gunpowder for defending the city, and dates from the 15th century. We then took the Metro to the main train station to buy tickets for tomorrow's 7-hour train journey to Budapest. Besides meeting 2 elderly (very adventurous, I say)...
