23rd April: From London to Barcelona to meet the Parents

Image
I woke up at 5:30am and was unable to get back to sleep. So I got up, had a nice hot shower and occupied myself before Rachel and Matt got up to have breakfast. I had scrambled eggs on toast again, this time it was made by Matt. I REALLY love eggs and toast!!:) Anyway, not before long it was time to leave. Rachel had to go off to work and Matt and I took the bus to the tube station for me to catch the train to the airport. I'm so thankful for wonderful hosts like Rachel and Matt. I had a fantastic time catching up with Rachel and I'm so thankful that she was my small group leader back in the days in Nottingham! Everything went smoothly on the flight from London Heathrow to Barcelona. The British Airways flight was quite full and I was seated next to 2 American blonde women who looked like they were in their late 50s or early 60s. I was in the aisle seat. The lady sat right next to me kept losing her stuff, always rummaging through the mountain of things in her bag t...

22nd April: Day in London with Rachel & Matt

So I waited a loooong time to collect my luggage at London Heathrow on Sunday night. I only got to Holloway Road tube station to meet Rachel and Matt at about 9:50pm. By the time we arrived back and washed up, I think I went to bed at 11pm, really sleepy. I vaguely heard Matt moving about at about 7am the next morning as he was preparing to go to work. The next thing that happened was that I heard the sound of Rachel showering in the bathroom at 10:30am. Wow, I had slept all the way until 10:30am! But I felt so alert and fresh and well-rested. Rachel made me scrambled eggs on toast as we had a leisurely late breakfast. We caught up on life and then began to talk about what we would do for the rest of the day. We decided to go to the Tate Modern for its nice view of South Bank, and then we would go to Harrods to do a little window shopping. So this is the nice view from the 6th floor cafe of Tate Modern: It is free entry into the museum and they have exhibitions that are free t...

Off to my Nostalgia Trip!

Image
So I'm sitting at the Burger King of Changi Terminal 3 satisfying my cravings for nonsense food like Hershey's pie and the taro pie. And I remembered that since I'm traveling, my blogging should definitely kick up again!:) I'm flying to London and will be there toll Tuesday morning. Then I fly to Barcelona to meet my parents and will stay there with them until Thursday morning. All of us will then fly to London. They will stay in London until Monday morning. For me, I'm taking a train up to Nottingham on Saturday morning and will be staying the night there so that I can visit T-street on Sunday. Then Sunday night I take the train back to London. Monday morning I take the flight back to Singapore. Phew. Lots of moving about but I'm so excited for this short trip of meeting people and returning to old places that hold fond memories for me!
