25 April: Sending off the bros

Image
In a what they call "once in a lifetime" experience, Eugene, Joel and Kah Wan flew off to Melbourne to meet James, and they were off to a 15-day trip in Melbourne, Tasmania and Sydney. We all went to the airport to send them off, chilling out first over ice cream at Gelateria, where they actually provided free toppings of nuts and chocolate rice! They get back only on 9 May. Looking forward to their (his? heehee) return!

18-20 April: Good Friday weekend

Image
The Good Friday long weekend was one of rest (on Friday and Saturday) and activity (on Sunday) for me. On a side note, I'm really enjoying a slow down in my church involvement since I stepped out of the Youth ministry as youth mentor and I cut down my worship duty to once a month. On Friday , I woke up slightly later just in time to wash up and head out for dimsum brunch with my parents, brother, Carolin, baby and Carolin's parents. We went to Imperial Treasure Cantonese Restaurant at Great World City. I stuffed myself silly with the yummy custard buns and egg tarts - they were really good! The rest of the Friday and Saturday was spent at home, reading, falling asleep, waking up to disturb General, then reading again, falling asleep, waking up to disturb General, reading... and the pattern continued. I actually woke up for dinner with a headache, which my dad thinks is from sleeping TOO MUCH. Saturday was really free too. But I also spent the day preparing for cell...

12 Apr - William & Phebe's wedding

Image
On 12 April, Saturday, it was a rainy day. It was also the day William finally married Phebe! The wedding ceremony at LSBC started at 11am. Phebe wore such a demure and ladylike gown! One thing I like about weddings - we make the effort to dress up a little! The dinner was at Meritus Mandarin - same as my brother and Carolin. There were much lesser tables though - 50 instead of 70. Phebe's gown was more elaborate now, as compared to her very simple and demure gown in for the wedding ceremony. I was seated with worship team people like Denis and family, Jon Tsang and Christel, Douglas and Charmaine, Karyne, Eugene and Victoria. We were joking that our table consisted of a full band - drummer, guitarists, pianists, vocalists and sound man. Anyway, the food was good and seated directly opposite me was cute baby Dana. I really liked the crab with 'mantou' and the 'oh nee' (yam paste)! It was an enjoyable wedding dinner:)

Way overdue: 18 Jan: Day 3 of LCP BKK trip

Image
So this is way overdue but I'm thinking, "better late than never". I had originally uploaded just the photos alone and saved it as a draft to add in the words at a later date. And erm... the "later date" seems to be about 3 months later... oops, hee hee. If needed, you may want to refresh your memory by reading my entries on Day 1 and Day 2 of the LCP trip. Anyway, day 3 of our LCP BKK trip was the last full day in BKK. It was a very very different and new experience for me because, for the first time ever in my life, I was driven to Platinum Mall, right into its carpark, and on the way there, the roads were CLEAR. We spent the rest of the day in Platinum Mall. Our longest break was for lunch at the Japanese restaurant (also first time experience for me). I was too busy shopping and looking at stuff and eating so I have no photos to offer you here:D For dinner, we ate at the Four Seasons London restaurant at Megabangna, which is a huuuuuuge mal...

11 April 2014: Electric Run

Image
For the first time in my life, I joined a "marathon" (when it's more like a fun run, or Eugene described it as clubbing while running) of 5km distance. Eugene was keen on it and I thought it would be something different for us and myself, so I readily agreed and we registered ourselves, paying $68 per person. Above is a summary. You can scroll down for more details:)  At about 6:15pm, Eugene came over to my office. We changed into our sports attire and Cindy took a photo of the 2 of us: We took our race tags, ezy-link cards, keys and handphones, placed them in the race pack (that has blue straps and is hanging off Eugene's forehead in the above picture), left the rest of our stuff behind the reception area in the office, and headed off to take the train to the venue. After a simple and reasonably priced dinner at the food court at Millenia Walk, as we were walking over to the starting point at the F1 pit building, we bumped into Germaine and Stephanie...
