At 10:30am, Tuesday, 24th March 2009, Janice and I left our rooms to meet Hong Zhen at the bus stop nearby. We caught the bus that would bring us to East Midlands Airport. Then from East Midlands Airport, we sat a plane that brought us to Geneva. We arrived in Geneva in the evening. The first thing we did was to check into the hostel where we were going to spend the next 4 nights. First thing we did was to make our beds: Then we sat around while we decided what to do and where we should eat. In the meantime, we compared the ways we made our beds and decided that Hong Zhen's bed-making skills were of the "hotel standards". Here are two pictures of the room, which consisted of 3 bunk beds, a sink and a cupboard. We were very impressed with the hostel because the facilities were new and good. The common toilet and kitchen were way beyond our expectations. The toilet even had hair dryers that could be used for free. We walked around a bit before deciding to have dinner at an...

I surprised quite a few people yesterday when I told them that I arrived back in Singapore at 2:30pm in the afternoon instead of the original 6pm in the evening. You see, when I had arrived at London-Heathrow airport at 5pm, I was approached by one of the ground staff. He asked if I was taking the 10pm flight back to Singapore and I said yes. Then he asked if I wanted to change to the earlier flight, which was departing London at 6:30pm on Sunday. I decided to switch to the earlier flight to avoid having to sit around in the airport for the next few hours. Besides, the ground staff also told me that the 10pm flight would be delayed by about half an hour. So, I took the 6:30pm flight. On the way to the airport, I took the tube from King's Cross to Heathrow. A man with this beautiful, big golden retriever boarded the tube at the same station I was at. I managed to take two photos of the dog secretly. The dog was really gentle, and very friendly. It didn't bark at people, allowed ...

Zettai Kareshi (Absolute Boyfriend) Final [SP]

*Spoiler alert* I first blogged about this Japanese drama serial last year . Today, I got back from Geneva and discovered that the Special had been broadcasted recently! I quickly clicked on the links so that I could watch it. Well, I've completed the Special and, well, it brings the whole drama serial to a well-rounded close. When I first started watching this Special, I was desperately hoping that Riko (lead character's name) would end up with her robot-boyfriend. But as the show went on, I was reminded of how, right from the very start, I knew it would be a sad ending in that Riko would not, and could not, end up with the robot. There just wasn't a future for the two of them. I usually am the kind of person who will try to avoid sad shows that will get me a little depressed, so why did I watch this show anyway? Well, I'm not sure. But it was an interesting show. Sweet and touching as well. Although it made me cry a little:( Anyway, if you've watched the drama ser...

My first birthday present for the year! According to his tag, his name is "Medium Pudding Hedgehog". But I think I'm going to give him a better name, if I can think of one. Medium Pudding Hedgehog (MPH) came with a nice letter and a piece of tissue stuck to the letter because the person thought I'd be so moved by the contents of the letter that I'd cry and will thus need to use the piece of tissue... So now the collection of toys in my room consist of MPH, Dylan the Dog, a small dark brown hippo, a big grey hippo, and Ellie the Elephant.

The luggage is out!

Crappy Birds

I was walking to school just now for my Japanese lesson (and last class of the term!) when the stupidest bird poo-ed on me! I was looking down when I felt this heavy splat on my forehead. I felt sick to my stomach when I realised one very very annoying bird had "let go" when I was just under it. I quickly whipped out my bottle of water and tissue. As I walked, I was wiping my fringe and cringing at the brown stuff on the tissue. When I reached the building where I was going to have my Japanese lesson, I ducked into the bathroom and tried to wash it all off. There was no sign of it but I could smell it. And the smell was nauseating. I went to class, commanding myself not to think about it. The moment I got home, I ducked into the shower and washed my hair two times over. I'm very sorry to all bird lovers out there who may come across this entry, but, BIRDS SUCK. They do their "big business" anywhere they like, dirtying things and people alike. They scare people b...

Oh, FB Days! (Does it sound like "Oh, Happy Days" to you?)

Yesterday, I had my last tutorial of the term! It was a busy day for me because I had two lectures from 9-11am and a tutorial from 12-1pm. Afterwards I made a quick trip to Beeston to buy snacks for small group meeting as I was on food duty. Then I walked back to Law school to meet a new friend, his mum and uncle. I was with them until about 4plus. I had a few hours breather to try to do some reading and to have dinner, before I left to borrow a pack of cards from one of the Singaporean Year 1s for a ice-breaker at small group meeting. Then caught the bus to go to small group. I got back from small group at 11. Because I acted as "tour guide" for this new friend (he is coming to Nottingham uni to study Law come September '09. He accompanied his mum and uncle to the UK on a business trip and they made a day trip to Nottingham to have a look), I had the chance to pay a visit to the hall I stayed in last year, Florence Boot hall. He had applied for accommodation in FB and wa...

"We Got Married" is a Korean variety show that I first mentioned here . I just spent (wasted - when I should be reading my Law textbooks?) my whole weekend watching it. One by one, as the 4 original couples left the show, I found myself fast-forwarding through more and more of each episode when it came to segments of the other couples (of whom I'm not interested in). The first couple to leave was the AnSol (Andy and Solbi) couple: They were a really sweet and compatible couple. People called them the couple that seemed the closest to a true, real-life married couple. They decided to leave while they were still going strong because Andy felt that it was not good for the two of them to carry on this type of relations at the rate that they were developing. He said that it was unhealthy for the two of them and I heartily agreed with him. The two of them have become so close, and I truly believe there was alot of chemistry between the two of them. Andy had even met up with Sol...
