Hilarious clip from Goblin Ep 7

CAN'T WAIT FOR TOMORROW NIGHT TO COME SO WE CAN WATCH A NEW EPISODE OF GOBLIN!!! But until then, I really love this clip from Episode 7 where Kim Shin goes to the movies with Eun Tak. They are actually watching the movie "Train to Busan", which is the show that the actor Gong Yoo (acting as Kim Shin) stars in. It was a REALLY successful movie. And it is HILARIOUS how Kim Shin gets sooooo scared at "his own" movie. The reference at the end to how the future of Korean film industry is bright is also so amusing.

Amazed by the writer of Goblin

Image
If you did not catch my earlier blog post (from some time ago I think), my present drama addition is called Goblin a.k.a. Guardian: The Lonely and Shining God. I'm still very much in love with it. The lead actors and lead actress are really hitting all the right notes for me in terms of their chemistry with one another. They balance the humour and witty conversation so well together with the little romantic comedy and major melancholic tone to this show. I am just SO amazed by the writer of Goblin. She is the same writer who did Descendants of the Sun, which to me was a rather mainstream show when it came to its concept and story line. Goblin, however, is totally a ball out of the park. The fantasy and tragic elements are mixed well together with the clever, humourous banter by the cast. So much has happened in the first 8 episodes of the show, I am always left thinking how the writer is going to continue providing material for the rest of the show, and yet she continues to su...

New Addiction - Goblin

I am most definitely hooked on a new Korean drama serial that just started airing last weekend in Korea on their channel tvN. The name of the show is Goblin, or otherwise known as Guardian: The Lonely and Great God. There was a lot of hype leading up to the premiere of this show because the script writer is known for her great works such as the very recent The Descendants of the Sun. Also, the lead actor in this show, Gong Yoo, is on a popular wave following his successful movie, Train to Busan. He hasn't been in a drama serial for a number of years now, so his return to dramaland is highly anticipated to a much higher degree. The other 3 lead characters in the show are also portrayed by actresses and an actor that I like so I was super keen on watching it once it started airing. And it has been awesome! The first 2 episodes were 90 minutes long (as opposed to the usual 60 minutes), but it did not feel long at all! The 2 lead actors have this love-hate bromance going o...

Bigoted

This word has been appearing a lot in recent days, particularly in social media. So Donald Trump won. Let us see what HIS GOVERNMENT will do, not just him. He may want to nuke a country, but he can't do it all on his own. So let us just give it a rest and give this time. Don't keep throwing about the word "bigoted", calling others that when you may stand for everyone being free to have their own views on things. The word "bigoted" is defined as "obstinately or unreasonably attached to a belief, opinion, or faction, and intolerant towards other people's beliefs and practices." Before you call someone bigoted, can you please ask yourself if you are being bigoted by calling someone bigoted? It is so unnecessary to come out and judge someone to be bigoted like that. Let us just pray for the nation, okay? Don't need to go around criticising the "silent majority" (and now people are identifying them as Christian) voters as ...

#startyourerngene Official Photos are Here!

Image
We met up with our wedding photographer, Goderic, yesterday, and received the official wedding (and pre-wedding) photographs from him in such an awesome box! We really love his eye for details. We took a quick scroll through all the actual day photos last night and he caught beautiful moments. He also made special effort to photograph every person who helped in one way or another to make the day (and night) a success and so enjoyable for Eugene and me.  He had actually put together this video consisting of the day-only photos to be shown at the dinner banquet, but we didn't have the time to show it properly with the song. It was actually just playing on loop throughout the dinner. Here it is with the songs he chose:

One month in...

Image
We are one month into our marriage! Time has flown by so quickly and we are already in the second-last month of 2016. Many people ask us how married life has been so far - we say it hasn't really begun because we are still waiting for our house renovation to be completed. We are now staying with our parents, and we call the place Aroozoo Resort because we do not need to worry about cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc. Most of what we need, we get it done for us on a request or even without us asking but our helper or parents already notice it and provide for us. We are so blessed! We are now aiming to move in during the last weekend of November so that we don't clash with my sis and bro-in-law moving into Aroozoo Resort that same weekend.

Finally got to try desserts at Wimbly Lu. Was really pleased that @uegenetristan took quite a bit of the waffle with chocolate truffle. The root beer float cake was good too! Totally enjoyed time spent with @fokshuen :)

Days leading up to 1 October 2016 were tiring and stressful, but I think they were all worthwhile thinking back to how much I enjoyed 1 October 2016. It went by too quickly. I miss wearing my wedding and evening gowns! heh. Here is the awesome Wedding Day Express highlights video done by Douglas and his team at XD Studio - LOVE IT TO BITS: I thank God for the great day He made it. He provided good weather and made everything come together so nicely. He gave us a great team of friends and vendors (Goderic for photography, Shirley for the bridal studio doing hair, makeup, flowers and of course the fantastic dresses, Douglas for video, and Joo Geek for MBS) who made the day so enjoyable for Eugene and me. It was everything I imagined, and so much more. I wish it went on just a little longer!

Last honeymoon day of #startyourerngene spent at Platinum Mall and Siam Discovery. Pity the Thai Tea crepe cake at Petite Audrey Cafe was sold out but the milo crepe cake was really good too - even Eugene liked it (and he doesn't have a sweet tooth)!

One funny clip from Moonlight Drawn by Clouds

This clip is from Episode 10 of Korean drama serial Moonlight Drawn by Clouds. The lead actress (disguised as a (male) eunuch) sprained her ankle while climbing a tree, so her 2 very funny good eunuch friends were trying to help her move around. Their faces when they realised it was so much fun!! haha

Current Craze - Moonlight Drawn by Clouds (and Park Bo Gum)

Image
In the craziness running up to the wedding, I have been finding respite in a few things - playing the mobile game Hay Day (taking care of my chickens, cows and sheep, planting my carrots, baking pies, soups and serving customers visiting my town by train), and watching this Korean drama serial currently airing in Korea called "Moonlight Drawn By Clouds" (aka "Love in the Moonlight"). This is one of my favourite songs from their Original Sound Track (OST): I am not a fan of 'sageuk' Korean dramas (where they're dressed in old fashion garbs etc), but really liking this show! And the lead actor, Park Bo Gum... oh my gosh really loving his acting. In real life, he seems to be a really polite, kind, young man (see his recent guest appearance on 2 Days 1 Night) and he openly says he's Christian! *swoon*

Doctors craze continues - OST song "Sunshower"

Image
I think my previous drama craze was for "Cheese in the Trap", except the last 2 episodes where I was supremely disappointed in it and gave up on it. I remember I was also crazy about the original soundtrack (OST) of Cheese in the Trap. It is now (about) the same for "Doctors". This song, "Sunshower", is really nice! Very soothing... (And just look at the lead actor's handsome expression as he looks at the lead actress!!! Sigh... hahaha) I especially love the instrumental version of the same song:

Doctors Ep 10 - Open Communication in a Relationship

It is SO important to have open (and clear) communication in a relationship. E and I suffered from a severe lack of communication in the first round of our relationship. I expected him to know what I was thinking without me having to tell him, which is just fairy tale thoughts and totally unrealistic. We cannot read each other's minds. Second time round, I tell him everything (mostly) straight out. Of course there are the exceptions of speaking in anger or frustration, then words just don't come out right and I think it would be good to take time to calm down AND THEN talk about it soon after. But the point is that couples must have good, open, healthy communication. I really like the ending of episode 10 of Korean drama serial "Doctors" where lead actress Hye Jung told the lead actor Ji Hong outright that they both need to be open and share what is on their minds. Ji Hong was being all heroic is watching out only for Hye Jung and not sharing his emotions, ca...

Korean Drama Addiction - Doctors - Episode 8 ROCKS!

So if you haven't already heard, I LOVE the currently airing Korean drama serial named "Doctors" (aka "Doctor Crush"). Episode 8 sealed the deal for me in the way the lead actor (character name "Hong Ji Hong") and the lead actress (character name "Yoo Ji Hye") interact, support and have fun with one another. Their chemistry is just SO good. I smile stupidly to myself (even publicly on the train, oops) whenever I think of this clip, which is the last part of Episode 8 where Yoo Ji Hye finally reciprocates openly by holding his hand first!! Just love their chemistry... (also love the song that was playing in the background when she took his hand - that's my present ear worm, which is on repeat in my playlist!)

We are in exciting times! 80 days to #startyourerngene

Current drama serial addiction - Doctors

General's mad rush for his meal

I took this video this morning of General's usual craziness and mad rush for his food. It is really funny to see him try to sprint towards his food on the tiled floor, which just makes him slide around as he does the big U-turn. He tried to go straight ahead hoping the door would be opened for him. But he realised he had to go the long way so away he went. It really cracks me up!!! hahahaha

UK 2016 Days 2, 3 & 4 - 1, 2 & 3 April - Man U tour; Kendal; Man U v Everton!

Image
Day 2, 1 April, Friday Whether it was due to jet lag or (and) the powerful heaters in the rooms, corridor and living room, everybody was up by 6 am. All of us had a leisurely breakfast of random things bought the day before. John Gell came by on his way to work and sat with us for 20-30 minutes before he left for work and Eugene and I headed over to Victoria Centre to get a SIM card for me from EE. We then checked out of our apartment and started our drive up to Manchester. We drove through the Peak District and it was really windy and cold! We stopped at one point to admire the scenery and take some shots like this one: Hungry and needing the toilet, we stopped at the Snake Pass Inn, which was randomly on the way. The hot soup, beef pie and really fat chips was immensely satisfying!  We finally reached Manchester and joined up with Denise at Ibis Salford Quays hotel. It was a mad rush thereafter because our Old Trafford stadium tour was set at 2pm but I still...

UK 2016 Day 1 31 Mar - My Nottingham!

Image
It has been 3 years since I last came back to the UK. It has also been a really long time since I took Singapore Airlines too. And I am so impressed by their new system! The big screen is touch screen and they use the Android system:) After the approximately 13 hour flight, we collected our rental car and found our way to the M1 before we made a pit stop because we were all hungry. This is us at Burger King! And I got everyone to drink Costa... Their mocha is SO good:D Over an hour later, we found our way to PTK Luxury Apartments at 101 Cranbrook House along Lower Parliament Street. As we drove our way to the City Centre, we passed by the University Campus and the place where I used to have small group, and I was SO happy. I was even excited over seeing the Orange bus number 36... We walked to the nearby Victoria Centre to buy groceries from the Tesco Metro there. Everybody got pretty excited doing impulsive buys. One very impulsive buy is the GBP2.50 tub of Ben & Jerr...

Easter Production 2016 - Back to the Start

Image
It is an EPIC accomplishment by this Easter Production team that started preparations of the script and songs almost 1.5 years ago. Matthias, Reuben, Barnabas and Isaac wrote all the songs, which were really good! I agreed to play the keyboard thinking I only needed to play 1 or 2 songs, and because Eugene was singing and acting in the production already so we could just be involved together like that. Little did I know that I had to provide background music for every scene save for 1 scene. And it was not just during every scene, but during every scene transition!!! The band started joining in rehearsals in January this year, if I remember correctly. Practices were every Tuesday night and Sunday afternoon. We then added in one more rehearsal on the Thursday night immediately before the 2 performances on 19 and 20 March.  What a tiring experience. But there was immense satisfaction from it. Thank You God for making this production a success!! It was a grrrrea...
