11 years on

[This entry is more of a reflection on my part. You can skip over it if you think it's too long & wordy!] Just yesterday, it dawned on me that it has been about 11 years since my mother and I got knocked down by a van just outside our previous house. We were trying to cross the road to get a cab when, before we had any inkling of what hit us, we got into the accident. I have a very scratchy memory of what exactly happened. I kinda remember my mum cradling me and there was blood on the road. The next thing I remember was I was being wheeled somewhere in the hospital. After that, the next thing I remember was that I found myself in a hospital room. From my parents, I have since learnt a bit more about what happened that day. When we got knocked down, my mum was flung quite a distance. It's a miracle she wasn't harmed even more seriously. She had to get stitches, but didn't even need to be hospitalised. As for me, the ambulance came and took me to the nearest hospital,...

Enjoying Summer

I don't have many pictures to show you, but, trust me, when I say that I'm slacking BIG TIME. I only start my internship at a law firm called Rodyk & Davidson come 3 August, and will work until 28 August. I'm looking forward to it and yet, at the same time, not really looking forward to it because it's working life. And I'm really enjoying this slacking time I have now. Anyhow, I've been playing loads of wii, at least twice a week - once with One-Third, almost every Sunday afternoon after church with my cell group mates. It's really absolutely fantabulous to be back home in Singapore and be able to attend LSBC. I really don't have anything substantial to blog about, but I just want to show you this photo, something you would see if you entered my room today: This is my favourite toy, Hippo, upside down on my table in my room. My brother placed her (yes, my toy is female) like that. He did it in the late afternoon, before dinner. We take a second, clo...

Family Hol '09: Video

And the video has been successfully uploaded onto Youtube!:) I'm very sure there are many areas that can be improved upon, especially certain areas where the succession of photos was just too fast for you to catch. After 4 days, I just got tired of editing it anymore so... Sorry! Just remember this is an amateur's work. In fact, I'm a complete beginner with zero proper education in using video editing software. Therefore, please be nice! In the meantime, I hope you find it interesting!

Playing Catch-Up

Over the past 4 days, I have been putting together a video clip of my recent family holiday to Europe. I previously blogged about it, but this is just a quick run-through of the major things we did on this holiday. It is now being uploaded onto my Youtube account and should be ready to be shown here in 7 hours' time (the file is 1.2GB big you see). In the meantime, a catch-up on what I've been up to here in Singapore! 10 July, Friday - Cell group meeting Last Friday after cell group meeting, we celebrated Xinni's and Samuel's birthdays. Uncle KK also bought some swiss rolls of different flavours for us. I took a photo of this box of swiss roll because they just look, and make me feel, so happy. 11 July, Saturday - Randy & Kara's wedding; Janice's birthday party Randy and Kara's wedding ceremony and reception was a sweet, simple, classy affair, in my opinion. I particularly enjoyed the "behind the scenes" segment of their "Thank you"...

two-one in two-oh-oh-nine

4th July 2009, Saturday Jien had a simple birthday BBQ with a few relatives, and also invited One-Third. The food was REALLY Good. (See Jien's dad prepare the food for us on the left photo) And, of course, other photo taking had to be done: After stuffing ourselves silly, we took a short walk in Jien's neighbourhood and had some photo-taking-fun at one of the bus stops nearby. We then sat around in Jien's bedroom, which led to some hilarious madness surrounding a few of the soft toys. We tried to make our own little "movie". The original storyline was that Mother Panda was supposed to cross the road, using the zebra crossing, to pick up her phone, which was ringing. As she was crossing the road, the penguin was supposed to fly in from nowhere and knock Mother Panda such that she gave birth. Jien was supposed to be the voice of the Mother Panda. The giraffe was supposed to be the doctor. To preserve this toy that belongs to Jien's youngest sister, we wanted to ...
