Happy Birthday Weiyan!

Image
Jien came up with this ingenious idea that she would pretend Michelle took her phone and left school with her phone. This way, Jien would hafta bring Weiyan to Queensway McDonald's, where Michelle would return Jien her phone. Weiyan didn't really suspect anything. When they got there, we were all hiding in the mini playground, hoping for dear life that she wouldn't be able to see us and will TRULY be surprised. Well, I think she was truly surprised. Although Tina and Stef actually stared Weiyan right in the eye just before the rest jumped up, shouting "Surprise!". Also, I only stumbled to my feet, totally missing the opportunity to shout "surprise" with the others. Bummer. Anyway, how we got there. About 9 of us met up after our Econs paper to take a bus to Queensway McDonald's. We were supposed to get there earlier than Jien and Weiyan, naturally. So we took 100. Tina and I on bus 100. Sorry it's a little blur. But it turned where we thought it ...

4th Day of common test

Today I had my Econs paper. The questions were straightforward but I just didn't have enough time to write down everything I had to say. I think I spend too much time organizing my answers first before writing it all down. In the end, all my answer are really short. At one point of time, my Econs cum Civics tutor actually STOPPED at my desk. It was VERY freaky and stressful. Luckily I was still thinking then. After Econs, I felt as if exams were over! BUT... I still had Chinese listening compre, paper and oral the next day. I hadn't touched Chinese in the longest time and was a little worried over it. Everybody seemed to have decided on not studying Chinese but I felt I had to do a little something. So I thought to myself, I'll leave Weiyan's birthday party earlier to get home to do some Chinese. But I ended up staying right till the very end, and I even did some window shopping with Tina and Stef at PS after we left the party! What's worse, after dinner, I took abo...

Nightmare

Last night, before I went to bed, I had this feeling that I would have a nightmare. It is because I was going to bed even though I hadn't touched a single page of Human Geog notes and I hadn't taken a single look at my Math ever since I had tuition yesterday afternoon. Just think, I went into the exam hall forgetting to memorize 1 important formula that appeared in TWO questions in the paper today. Just great isn't it? Well. I really had a nightmare. Here it is for the record: I dreamt that I was in a toilet of my old house back in Pasir Panjang doing my SMALL business. When all of a sudden, a giant cockroach appeared out of nowhere. And, trust me, it was the biggest cockroach I had ever seen without it becoming an alien. The problem was, I wasn't done with my small business. So I finished my business with the toilet as fast as I could, all the while keeping my legs off the floor, hoping like MAD that the cockroach won't crawl towards me. When I was done, I quickly ...

3rd Day of Common Test

Again, otherwise known as Mid Terms. I think, after going through the past 2 days of common test, I think today is the worst day of all. Maybe it's because it's a day that consists of TWO papers, Geog and Math. AND I've really high expectations on myself for Math. I like Math and I'm counting on it for a nice-looking grade for this Common Test. Well, bye bye nice-looking grade. Hello disappointment. All in all, I left school feeling miserable and absolutely horrible. Fortunately, the TDT never failed to cheer me up, along with 2 other church friends who were such a great help to me when I was feeling so terrible about myself. As for my Math tutor, she had 2 lines to comfort me: 1) Everybody else in the class will do as badly as me. 2) JC is meant to make us feel stupid. After having a failed attempt in studying Econs at Jien's house with Tina, I took a bus back with Tina. I think we left the house at around 6.30pm. I only got home at 7.15. On our trip back home, Tin...

2nd day of Common Test

Otherwise known as mid terms. I've 3 more days of exams to go! Oh boy, it seems like a mighty long time before this week ends. But I think what's even worse is that I will have to get back my results, which I am not looking forward to. I am reaping the harvest of procrastination. On Sunday, the sermon was all about procrastination and its effects. Oh gosh, I felt like the speaker was teaching only me out of the whole hall of people. Basically there are 3 stages: Stage 1 - Procrastination once in a while. A person has the intention to do something but puts it off for a little while. This is not often. Stage 2 - Persistent Procrastination. It leads to indiscipline in a person. Stage 3 - Prolonged Procrastination. An indisciplined person becomes unwise. I think I'm at stage 3. BUT, you know what's the saving verse from the bible just when I was feeling so hopeless? Check out Philippians 4:13 . It has never meant as much to me as it does now. Also, 1 practical step you can ...

Please help

I'm confused. Calling all 5566 fans, can you please explain to me how come one of the 5566 guys, I think his name is zhang shao wei , is in another boyband called 183 club? He's not the first one I've heard who is in TWO boybands. There's another girl, whose name I can't remember. She was (or still is?) in this 7-member band. I'm so sorry but I can't recall all their names. Now she's in this girlband called qi duo hua. Direct translation is "7 stalks of flowers". Yes, so can anybody help me clear up these questions I have in mind? Talking about taiwanese pop-ers, the SWEETEST, girliest duos are emerging. 2 to be exact. One's called "Kissy" and the other's "Sweety". Maybe the TDT should enter the Pop industry as well. We may not be a duo, but we're still somewhere close, a trio. And we won't be called "Kissy" or "Sweety"... how about... "Blackie"? Since we're all so tan...

Bale's in, Holmes' out

Today in The Straits Times Life! section, I read a small article about 3 paragraphs long with the headline of this blog entry, it's on page 2 if you want to check it out, but it's really ba(1) gua(4) if you ask me. Basically, Warner Bros is so happy with the box-office performance of Batman Begins that it plans to remake all its Batman movies with Christian Bale as the superhero. Christian Bale, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman will all be in the sequel EXCEPT Katie Holmes. The Source told New York Post that "the next romantic interest will be a much stronger actress". OUCH. I must admit that I don't really like Katie Holmes, especially the way she's publicising her relationship with Tom Cruise. From Batman Begins, I also noticed that she should wear braces. Yet I still feel a little sorry for her. She's considered a "weak actress". Again, OUCH .

Shopping! Movie!

Yesterday (Monday 20/6), I met up with Jolene at 1.15pm in Taka. And so began our shopping trip together! From Taka (where I met Tina and Stef at Kino. 2nd time I've met the both of them in Orchard during this June hols), we walked to Wisma. Then it was to Lido, Wheelock, then back to Lido for our movie. We watched "Batman Begins". I think it was a good show. Michael Caine and the guy who acted as the police officer Batman worked with added alot of humour to the show, especially Michael Caine, who played the butler. This movie is very long though. It started at 4.10 and ended only at about 6.15pm. So. After our movie, we continued shopping. From Lido, we walked back to Wisma and Taka. At Taka, we bought a donut each and shared 3 Tako Pachi balls. Delicious dinner. While munching on our donuts, we walked over to Meritus Mandarin's shopping arcade to find the shop we were heading to, closed. Undaunted, we headed to Centrepoint, our last stop for the day. We separated at...

To JB for dinner!

On Sunday afternoon, my parents and the other church elders' families travelled to JB for a 3 day-2 night retreat at Grand Hyatt. I didn't go for the retreat because Jolene and I decided that we should stay back in Singapore to study for exams *yucks* even though we really wanted to go for the retreat. However, my brother drove me, Jolene, her older sister and another friend of ours (whose dad is an elder as well) up to JB Sunday evening so that we could join them for dinner. Boy, was it a loooong drive. We took about one and a half hours to get to the hotel and one and a half hours to get back to Singapore. Traffic was INSANE. To make ourselves feel better, Jolene and I brought a little work to do in the car. She brought her Geog notes, I brought my Math TYS along. I am proud to say that I did THREE questions of Partial Fractions, then it got too dark so I gave up. Three's better than none, right? ;) At the hotel, we had Japanese food and surprised the elders with a ...

Study stayover 2

From Thursday to Friday, my best friend, Jolene, stayed over at my house. She came over Thursday afternoon and we studied till dinner. Then she went for a meeting in church while I watched a little tv and continued studying with Michael Buble's "It's Time". Jolene came back, then it was MORE studying! Before we slept, we watched "The OC" and "One Tree Hill". I think Chad Michael Murray is another charmer. But, for me, I consider most charmers as " old men ". And I don't exactly swoon at the sight of Chad Michael Murray, so I will not be adding him to my list of "good-looking, charming guys". Wait a minute, did I spell his name correctly? Friday morning, we woke up 2 hours later than the time we decided on. :( But we still put in a little studying before her dad came to pick us up after lunch. He dropped me off at Orchard for my appointment with my orthodontist. And our study sleepover ended.

Highlights of Church Camp '05

For the record, the LSBC church camp was from 8-11 June 2005 at Hotel Renaissance, Malacca, Malaysia. My family (excluding my sister), went up to Malacca one day earlier. One reason was to spend more time together as a family, and the other reason was to lend some moral support to the camp committee. My dad was very busy with work so we only left for Malacca in the afternoon, arriving at our destination in the evening, just in time for dinner. For dinner, we had chicken rice balls. The rice balls were cold and clump-y, quite a disappointment actually. But, the walk after dinner made up for it. We entered this 2-story gift shop that sold rather interesting stuff. I didn't buy anything though. Once we got back to the hotel, my dad, brother, a church friend named Larissa, and I played a few games of Bridge before retiring for the night. Oh wait, for supper, my parents bought back hum ching pang and the butterfly... what should I call it... the butterfly bun? Well, anyhow, I hope you ...

Study stayover 1

Wow, it's been a long time, eh? I've actually grown a little lazy in updating... ;) Anyway, from Tuesday night to Wednesday (yesterday), Diane stayed over. We had our reunion-cum-study-sleepover. It was just like the "old" days, to be more specific, the days leading up to Sec 4 Prelims and the Big 'O's. We had the time of our lives, did some studying and ate ALOT of rubbish. Here's the list: 1) Jack n Jill's 2) Kit Kat (A whole big pack) 3) Pringles (not finished) 4) Hershey's Milk Duds (not finished) 5) Nachos 6) Cut fruit consisting of an apple, 1 fragrant pear and an orange (Not considered "rubbish" but it was S-duper filling) On Wednesday, we had a late breakfast and practically no lunch at all. When we awoke Wednesday morning, we walked to the nearby McDonald's for breakfast. We got back by 12. Which was, technically, already lunch time. So, we studied until 4 and went out for some shopping. We ate some more at the nearby mall, n...

Short Notice

This is to notify all who are interested out there that I've started a blog specially about my recent trip to Japan with my family. You can check it out here or under the links section. I must warn you though, it is still under construction. A holiday stretching about 8 days is equivalent to loads of things to say. :)

Tokyo Cinderella Story

Image
Ever since I was in Tokyo for the last leg of my family holiday, I've had the... erm... you can say "urge" to re-watch a Japanese Drama Serial called "Tokyo Cinderella Story". It is an ULTRA old show but the storyline is one of the nicer ones as compared to the present Japanese Drama Serials. Nowadays, the endings of these Japanese Drama Serials can be so morbid and creepy. But not this show. It's a happy ending! VERY ROMANTIC. I was trying to find more information about this show on the internet when I stumbled on this Indonesian girl's review on this show. She wrote this, "ROMANTIS BUANGEEEEEEETTTTTT!!!!!!" I assume she's just exclaiming that it's S-DUPER romantic? Anyway, the poor girl, who is the female lead, ends up with the rich, charming guy and they live happily ever after! I suppose. I wonder what would have happened if they did a sequel to this Drama Serial. Would the couple get married without his father's objections? The...

Home Sweet Home!

But just for a day. I'm leaving for Malacca on Tuesday for Church Camp! oh gosh. I'm really, ultra, S-DUPER excited about church camp! My favourite speaker will be the camp speaker and, oh my gosh, it's just absolutely WONDERFUL! As for my family holiday to Japan, it was S-DUPER fantastic! Besides the fact that my back was KILLING me. These are the roles each family member played on this holiday: Dad: The Financial Source Mum: The Worrier/Carrier Sis: The Organizer Bro: The Navigator Me: The One who Endured I am "The One who Endured" because at least half an hour of standing/walking would result in a nagging pain at my lower back. On our day trip to Yokohama, it was an indescribable feeling to watch my dad, sister and brother walk up to the rollarcoaster ride at the amusement park, knowing full well that one and a half years ago at Tokyo Dome, I sprained my back as a result of a rollarcoaster ride. So. Every single day, I would end up back in the hotel lying on t...
