Millionaire's First Love MV

I thought it'd be good if I provided a chance for you to take a peek at some clips of this movie since I just posted something on it. I've checked, this music video contains no spoilers whatsoever (Like exactly how come the show is tragic and all...) so please watch the MV! Oh by the way, there are 2 clips where the actor says something in Korean. The first clip, I've no idea what he's talking about. In the second clip, however, he's saying something about breaking up with her. Yes, just to let you know. Ok, enjoy! :)

Millionaire's First Love

I saw the cover and title of this Korean movie in the rental store and assumed it would be some light-hearted comedy about a rich, spoilt kid falling in love with a poor, hardworking small-town girl. He would change for the better because of her and they would live happily ever after. I was wrong. I ended up crying my eyes out because the show is just so heartwrenching, so sad. It was tragic. After completing the show, I felt so cheated of my feelings. I wanted a happy show that wouldn't get me all depressed and heavy-hearted, instead I got this movie. Oh well. Aside from the fact that I cried while watching this movie, I think it's a good movie. The starting was a little shaky because it just seemed so messy and confusing, but later the movie settled into a good pace. It was interesting how the different pieces of the puzzle fell into place as the show progressed. It's like, a moment of revelation where you go, "OHHHH, NOW I know what was actually happening in that sc...

Mary Poppins!

I was just searching for the soundtrack of Mary Poppins when I decided to include some of the lyrics of a few parts of songs I like from the show. Have you watched "Mary Poppins"? Oh my, Julie Andrews was so S-DUPER pretty when she was young! Now she may look a little aged, but she has aged gracefully , and I think that is what matters. 1) Chorus of "Spoonful of Sugar" A Spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down The medicine go down-wown The medicine go down Just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down In a most delightful way 2) Chorus of "Let's go fly a kite" Let's go fly a kite Up to the highest height! Let's go fly a kite and send it soaring Up through the atmosphere Up where the air is clear Oh, let's go fly a kite! These 2 choruses have stuck with Tina and I for the longest time, ever since we rented the DVD to watch at my house. I always love how Mary Poppins could just pull all sorts of things out of her duffel-lookalike b...

Living out the Theory

We always have many random moments in life, don't we? Just today alone, I've already had two (of the more memorable ones), which made me realize that actually I'm living out TDT's Theory of Randomism . 1) Jien: "Lynn, I know your register number. It's 4." Lynn: "And YOUR register number is 16! 4 times 4 equals to 16!" Jien: "What does that have to do with anything we're talking about?!" The gist of the conversation that transpired between Jien and I while waiting for the MRT to go home from school. 2) Why is it that celebrities have fans? Where does the word "fan" come from? Is the root word "fanatic", because these people are crazy about some actor/actress/singer/prominent person? Or are they called fans because they... fan the success of this prominent person! A question that entered my mind out of nowhere just now. I must go find out what's the root word of "fan"... Anyway. 1 more day left of the...

Why a DRAW!

Last night, I slept at 12am and was awaken by Caron's phone call at about 3am. It was time for the Argentina-Holland match! Throughout the match, I was struggling to keep awake. My nose was runny and my eyes were super itchy, but I stayed up anyway because the 2 teams play really well! Their ball control is really cool! It also helped that Caron was providing me with extra information on players, the teams and their performances over SMS. He was actually switching between this match and the one on Channel 22, which is between 2 teams of whom I've forgotten who they are. I was rather disappointed that there were no goals scored by either side, making the final score 0-0. What a bummer. I made 3 new discoveries during the game though: 1) Riquelme from Argentina is in the Adidas ad where the 2 boys are forming up their "dream team"! I didn't really notice until Caron informed me of Riquelme's important role in the Argentinean team. 2) Holland's coach, Van Bas...

Finally!

I've finally met Tina and Jien for the first time this June holiday to study together! It was actually a very last minute thing because I woke up late yesterday and the SSC Exco was supposed to meet to study but everybody couldn't make it due to one reason or another. So I went to Serene Centre Macs to meet up with the two of them. I also got to eat ice-cream at Island Creamery (Did I spell it correctly?)! I loved the chunks of biscuits in the 2 flavours I chose: Apple pie and Cookies and cream. YumMY:)

Exco study session: Another Attempt

This time around we planned to meet at Caron's house. We were supposed to meet at the MRT station nearest his house at 10am but I couldn't make it because I had math tuition at 9. So I assumed the rest would have met him anyway. I was wrong. I was the first to arrive at his house at... 12.30 I think. Jiaxing arrived at 1. Yinmay reached at 3. Anymore? No man. The turnout was just as poor as our previous attempt at my house. Back then, there was Renling, Caron, Jiaxing and Hui Ling. One more person than today, so I guess it was a leeeetle bit better. ONE GOOD THING THOUGH. I was really productive today. Whereas Caron and Jiaxing were silly enough to switch on the xBox after lunch, which they didn't switch off until 5.30pm... the time we decided to leave. Now I'm just wondering... Are we meeting tomorrow?

Church Camp 2006

This year, church camp was at Pyramid Tower Hotel, Sunway Lagoon. It wasn't a spectacular-ly fantastic camp for me, come to think about it, not sure why. However, I had alot of fun and came out of the camp learning many, many new things. Here are my personal "highs" of the camp: 1) The 18-year-old family! Pity we didn't take a group photo with both the boys and the girls inside. We did take 2 photos of the girls, but they are with Elizabeth (I think). Well, I love how supportive we are of each other. We're a large group but within the guys and girls, we have this way of looking out for each other. We may have our "cliques" but we can still come together and have a fun time eating or slacking. The girls even got together to pray one morning of the church camp. I wasn't there though because I was playing the keyboard for that morning session. 2) Amy, Jolene and Lydia Erm ok so they're people, not "highs" but I really want to thank God for...

Day with the Exco: My random thoughts

I almost spent 12 hours with Renling today , because we met at 8am to do Jiaxing's present, and "separated" close to 8pm. We met at 8am to start on this board we wanted to give to Jiaxing. The plan was to complete it by 9am, but the plan failed. I ended up having to hide at one corner of the caf so that Jiaxing wouldn't spot me doing up the board, while Renling facilitated a meeting with the new SSC J1 Exco. It's at times like these that I really thank God for my iPod. It provided good music accompaniment from 9-11+. Good on you, iPod!:) Talking about my iPod. I've always been listening to a playlist of songs I constantly feel like listening to. However recently I decided to choose the "shuffle songs" opti on , which has led me to discover the most unlikely songs inside my iPod. I didn't even know I had some of them! Furthermore, I've started to fall in love with boybands again. I've noticed that I become a little happier/more soppy whe...

Watch THIS!

Ok, so I'm CRAZY about hippos right? I can't help it lah hippos are my favourite animals. I stumbled on this video clip that has this hippo singing and suddenly a dog jumps in and starts to dance, alarming the hippo a little. What I loved most about it was the hippo's expressions and how she was bobbing until the dog came along and started dancing. Please watch this ! The link will direct you to a multiply.com website which has this video. Click on the picture to load it! :)

My very first video clip on this blog

Green Forest, My Home Episode 13 (5/7) Okay. I'm going to try this out for the very first time. I've been watching bits and pieces of this taiwanese drama serial and this episode is REALLY funny! Fast forward to the last half of this clip;)

Exco photo!

YAYYYYY!!! Thanks Hui Ling, for sending me the photo! Out of the 3 photos we took (courtesy of photographer Ms Lee), this photo was the most presentable. If I'm not wrong, this is the first ever photo we've taken as a COMPLETE Exco, where all are present. As an aside... HAHA MR SOH! Are you saying you've nice hair?! Oh all right, your hair's ok, both in the front AND the back;) Aiyo that picture makes you look cute lah. It made MY sister laugh so it's something that is... able to cheer people up! (Ok I hope what I said about your photo just made you feel a little bit better about it:) )

Hilarious photo!

Ok, if you really want to know what "Danna" means please go watch "Memoirs of a Geisha", or read the book. Anyway. I began this entry because I just had to post this photo Sheryl posted on her blog of One-Third's Danna. Take a look: It really got me laughing when I visited Sheryl's blog. I also showed it to my sister! She was very amused. Mr Soh, actually this photo a little unglam ah;)

cravings fulfilled today

Image
1) Subway It's been the LONGEST time since I had something from Subway. Well, today I did! Had lunch with Amy before watching "She's the Man". We arranged to meet at Lido because that's the first place we thought of in town that had Subway. 2) Catching a movie I've been having this strong craving to catch a movie, and I finally did! Oh gosh "She's the Man" is so funny! I'm definitely going to get the VCD/DVD when it is released. Besides the fact that it's a chick flick, and that Amanda Bynes is always hilarious and interesting to watch, her co-star Channing Tatum is HOT (Note that I made the word bold, caps AND underlined it). Just take a look at this picture of him, he's the one with his shirt off. I had to show all of you his ABS. Just LOOK AT THEM! You can actually count the nuggets. Didn't help that he was the kind of guy who was sensitive and kind. He played football reeeaaaallllyyyy well too. It made Amy turn to me and s...

Exco lunch = F-U-N

We ate and ate and ate at Seoul Garden. Then we played many rounds of zhong ji mi ma (direct translation: guess the number?). Afterwards we walked and walked before splitting up, where some of us played pool and some of us walked/shopped. Guess which group I was in? ;) Caron! Hope you liked the slippers! It was funny seeing you "drag" your right foot when you walked out of Seoul Garden, but I knew it was too mean of us to laugh at you the rest of the afternoon, so I'm glad all of us agreed on buying you another pair of slippers. AYE. Ripcurl you know?! Hui Ling! Please send me the photos ASAP! Ok, I'm too lazy to write anything else. I'll probably blog more when the photos arrive in my email inbox.

Global Day of Prayer (GDOP)

Things that crossed my mind during the event last night at the National Stadium: 1) It's wonderful to be singing praise/worship songs under the evening sky. When worship began, the sun had not set yet so when I looked up, the scenery was just beautiful! So it's just the sky, but the feeling was... uplifting! 2) The pianist is sooooooo good! You know how when we're young and we see somebody who becomes something like a role model to us such that we tell ourselves, "When I grow up, I want to become just like him/her!"? Well, this statement came to mind last night: "When I grow up (in this case older), I want to become as good a pianist as the pianist at GDOP!". Is it ever possible? 3) I feel like I'm at a National Day Parade. Each person was given a "gift" pack containing the programme booklet, a bottle of water, one packet of biscuits and a flag. I received the flag of Mongolia. We had to wave these flags at one point in time and just looki...

Thank you, Danna!

We were having our wrap-up session for the camp today when Mr Soh, One-Third's dearest Danna walked towards the classroom we were in and started peering in. He made it very VERY obvious that he's a super kaypoh teacher by doing that... Anyhow Hui Ling and I caught his attention and we "bribed" him into helping us return the ice pack we borrowed from the PE department earlier in the morning when Jiaxing suffered a minor sprain of his ankle. We bribed him with tau sa pia . Being the generous and caring Danna that he is, he did help us return the ice pack. He even caved in to Hui Ling's request of helping us throw away a piece of used triangular bandage. But I digress. While eating his tau sa pia outside the classroom, he called me out and he was concerned and caring enough to offer his condolences and to ask how my family and I were handling the grief and all. I was glad that I could be open with him because, being a Christian, he would better understand how the f...

SSC LTC 2006

It's actually over. I'm happy to be back home, sitting in an air-conditioned room using the computer, and most importantly, being able to take a refreshing bath in my very own toilet (Okay. So I share it with my sister). The thing I hate most about school camps is the bathing part, unlike many people who usually can't stand the sleeping part of school camps. I'm happy that the camp was such a success, even though we slept at 3.30am every night (Or is it day?) for the 3 nights I stayed over in school and woke up at 6am, and now my eyes just keep closing naturally because I'm so tired. Yet out of this success, the Exco formed a stronger bond and had lots of fun and laughter together, not withstanding the stressful and conflicting moments. Furthermore, we got to interact more with the J1s, which was really interesting. I'm happy that SSC has such supportive and fun teachers, even though sometimes we may not understand why they do things the way they do, or don'...
