Milk

Image
During my pregnancy, people would ask me if I was afraid of giving birth. I would reply no. The delivery will take place in a matter of time and it would be all over within, in more extreme cases told to me, 24 or 48 hours. My greatest fear was breastfeeding. It is for months on end. It is out of my control whether I have enough milk being produced and whether the baby will latch on properly and well. So far, again, and I will say it continuously, God is good! Thanks to a great massage contact, milk stimulation was awesome and I have more than enough milk for the baby. It is too much now actually. As for the baby, she knows how to latch, but she's a fussy and slow eater. She would rather sleep than eat. So if she is both sleepy and hungry, she fusses and would rather sleep first. But she doesn't sleep well because she is hungry... Further, she gets impatient and doesn't want to latch and have to suck for the milk when she's really hungry. Yet if we see that sh...

A new start: The birth

Leanne on Day 2 (290717) I entered into an entirely new phase of life on 28 July 2017. God was sooo good to me during the pregnancy and He continues to be so awesome and good to me in the delivery and caring of my child. It all started at about 1.30am on 28 July 2017. I started to get contractions and I knew deep within me that it was the real thing. They were no longer fake or braxton hicks contractions. I was in self-denial though because I really wanted the baby to come out 1 August or after. We were expecting to have the weekend to continue preparations and setting up for the baby, but she couldn't wait, and God had other plans! By 3.30am, I knew there was no more denying it and I woke the husband up. The hilarious thing is that his first reaction to me saying, "Dear, I'm having contractions and I think this is it" was to get out of bed and put on the bedsheet on the baby cot mattress. We even hung up the clean clothes in our cupboards before getti...

My latest Jap drama - Totsuzen desu ga ashita kekkon shimasu ("Everyone's Getting Married")

Image
For awhile now, I have found it EXTREMELY difficult to find a Japanese drama serial that is a romantic comedy. I have always preferred Japanese drama serials for the length, i.e. 9, 10 or 11 episodes. With the short serial length, things move fast, pacing is usually very good, and flashbacks (if any) are always to the point and necessary. But Japanese drama serials have this tendency to end weirdly or in a more "open/hanging" manner that I find most irritating. Otherwise the drama serials are thrillers, action, going-to-school context, adultery, homosexual love... They are emo or they are just really creepy. It is super duper difficult to find a pure romantic comedy. So you can imagine my pleasure at discovering this drama serial that just started airing in Japan. The story line is really cute - about a girl who wants to get married, but is attracted to a guy who absolutely does not want to get married.  I really like that the lead female character is not a tot...

Lovely Kiss in Goblin Ep 10 - my favourite episode thus far!

Episode 10 of Goblin spent a bit of time setting out Kim Shin's story in the Goryeo era when he was a general, and the days leading up to his death as human, just before he was made immortal subject to him finding his bride. It was interesting, and it gives us a deeper look into Kim Shin, his love for his country and his sister, as well as his loyalty to the country. Kim Shin was a good man caught in very difficult circumstances and I would say that his death was so unnecessary. Immortality should not have been a punishment too. Poor Kim Shin. Anyway, what makes episode 10 my favourite episode thus far is the lead couple's progression in their relationship. Episode 9 saw a confirmation of their feelings for each other, and so you get to see more sweet manifestations of their relationship in episode 10. And they kiss! It is such a pure kiss, seeing that Eun Tak just became a legal adult at the age of 20, but the way they did it and portrayed it was just so full of happiness...
