1st week at Tung Ling
For those who are still unaware, I will be studying in Tung Ling Bible College for the next three months. The first week seemed like a really long and slow one because of the early mornings and having to sit through lectures, always fighting to keep awake until we have had our morning tea.
Here's the queue at morning tea. You can see everyone's excitement in the way they head straight to the table of food the moment they enter the canteen.
It is also the best time to get to know each other better as we attempt to sit with people we still are unfamiliar with. *Observe the bowls of porridge on the table. On that particular day, we had the best dish of the week because the porridge was tasty(even though it looked so plain) and we were provided with (really)meshed century egg and crispy slices of fried wanton skin(that is the best way I can describe it because I do not know what it is called). My table went to get a bowl-full of that fried wanton skin so we could enjoy more of it!
I've found a great travelling partner in Joanne as we go to school together. We can talk and then sometimes, actually all the time, when there is silence, we just treat it as an unsaid agreement to sleep on the bus, trusting that one of us will wake up on time to get off at the correct bus stop:)
One other thing that I must say about Tung Ling is that that classroom is really cold! Everyday, I have to stuff a jacket into my bag before I leave the house. Once I enter the classroom, I quickly put on the jacket and I will wear it for the rest of the day. I have also realized that my toes will freeze if I wear my birks to school. So I shall just stick to sneakers or shoes that cover my toes.
