Overseas/Local

I'm going to be alone at home(discounting the presence of my maid) from tomorrow onwards until Thursday.

Bummer.

My brother is going to be in camp while my parents and sister are flying off to Bangkok tomorrow morning and will only return Thursday night. Those lucky piggies. I WANT TO GO TOO! And it is not like I can give my sister a shopping list of the things she can look out for me and probably buy for me.

DOUBLE bummer.

So I'm staying in Singapore while they'll be overseas.

At dinner today, the subject of my university education came up again. I was playing with the idea of asking for another dog as a super early birthday present. But I was reminded (very cruelly) that if I was going overseas, I cannot get a dog now, or ever, at least until I have come home for good. My dad wasn't even thinking of getting another dog.

Man, I miss Keller very much. I hate it when it draws nearer to my bedtime because I'll get so emo and I'll begin to think over and over of Keller.

My sister kindly listed another incentive I would get to enjoy if I studied in a local university - I would get a car (well, sort of. It will still be a family car).

So. So far, the reasons I have for staying in Singapore stand at two, besides the very important reason that I would be close to my family, church and school friends if I stayed here. While the only reason I have for going overseas is for the exposure and that I (kind of)really want to experience an entirely different environment.

But what's the point of questioning now when I don't even know if my results will allow me the opportunity to choose between local or overseas universities, right?

hello lil miss courteous. good to plan ahead just in case!!! at least then u won't be falling over urself trying to figure things out when the results come out!!! :) will catch u folks soon!

Random #1: SUMMER HAS COME EARLY! The weather these few days have been AWESOME. After Monday lectures, Po Yew, Janice and I made a quick trip to the Millenium Gardens just next to Law School to take photos. Magical Christmas 2009 has come 11 months early

It has been snowing most of today, and everything is covered in snow - a beautiful, magical, pretty sight! It really is unbelievable how much snow there now is in Nottingham. Because it's Nottingham! It never snows in Nottingham, at least not for many many years past! Even in London, I heard that it's snowing so much that Heathrow airport was closed, train and tube services were stopped, SCHOOL LESSONS WERE CANCELLED! Why can't we have classes cancelled over here?! When I first woke up, I knew it would snow at certain points of today (but I didn't expect THIS much snow!). Like some Airline video

I just watched the 3+ minutes of the "final chapter" of Little Nyonya, the Channel 8 drama serial that ended last week. [Spoiler alert] I think it is so unnecessary? Anyhow, from the time of 2:59 onwards, I felt like I was watching some kind of Airline video, the one where they would show before the airplane takes off, briefing all passengers on what to do in cases of emergencies and stuff like that? Seeing Chen Xi stand behind Yueniang like that reminds me of when the air stewards and stewardesses on the video would end the video saying, "Thank you for your attention. Have a pleasant flight." Don't you think so? On the topic of Little Nyonya, I read an article from Mediacorp TV about this "Final Chapter" and I really wonder why people are making so much noise over a drama serial such that Mediacorp people have to step out to make further explanation!
