2 March 2011, Wednesday: LCP amusements

Working in LCP is generally a very enjoyable experience, and I am very thankful to be able to learn and work in such a positive environment. Many funny things happen too. Well ok, maybe not funny per se, but definitely amusing, and they make me laugh, and they make me not dread working life as much.

On Wednesday morning, I asked uncle Edwin what was his Nokia phone model as he had previously asked my brother to help him source for a good screen protector for his phone. My brother needed to know what was his phone model so that he could purchase the correct size. When I asked him what was his phone model, he wasn't sure exactly. So I asked him to describe his phone, but he couldn't do that either. So he told me he would go and check and get back to me.

After lunch on Wednesday, I returned to my desk to find this piece of paper in front of my computer.Then I realised that uncle Edwin had left me a message. Specifically... he had drawn out his phone model for me.If you don't find that amusing, I found it MOST amusing. So, I'm still blogging about it anyway.

My uncle is really too funny at times.

Random #1: SUMMER HAS COME EARLY! The weather these few days have been AWESOME. After Monday lectures, Po Yew, Janice and I made a quick trip to the Millenium Gardens just next to Law School to take photos. The sky is so blue, the sun is so bright, the grass is so green, the flowers are in full bloom... Forget about jackets. In Po Yew's words, which he said very happily, "The girls are wearing nothing!" Magical Christmas 2009 has come 11 months early

It has been snowing most of today, and everything is covered in snow - a beautiful, magical, pretty sight! It really is unbelievable how much snow there now is in Nottingham. Because it's Nottingham! It never snows in Nottingham, at least not for many many years past! Even in London, I heard that it's snowing so much that Heathrow airport was closed, train and tube services were stopped, SCHOOL LESSONS WERE CANCELLED! Why can't we have classes cancelled over here?! When I first woke up, I knew it would snow at certain points of today (but I didn't expect THIS much snow!). Like some Airline video

I just watched the 3+ minutes of the "final chapter" of Little Nyonya, the Channel 8 drama serial that ended last week. [Spoiler alert] I think it is so unnecessary? Anyhow, from the time of 2:59 onwards, I felt like I was watching some kind of Airline video, the one where they would show before the airplane takes off, briefing all passengers on what to do in cases of emergencies and stuff like that? Seeing Chen Xi stand behind Yueniang like that reminds me of when the air stewards and stewardesses on the video would end the video saying, "Thank you for your attention. Have a pleasant flight." Don't you think so? On the topic of Little Nyonya, I read an article from Mediacorp TV about this "Final Chapter" and I really wonder why people are making so much noise over a drama serial such that Mediacorp people have to step out to make further explanation!
