Latest Drama Enjoyment: Oh My Venus

I have been watching Korean drama serials regularly - not much has changed in this respect!:) A few weeks ago my sister recommended the now-airing Oh My Venus. But I wasn't very keen on the lead actress and actor so I never started on it, but I would see the recaps on the website I check in with daily, www.dramabeans.com.

So I saw that at the end of episode 6, the lead actor kisses the lead actress. And I wanted to check out the romance development into episodes 7 and 8 that just aired this week... I must say, I HAVE FALLEN IN LOVE WITH THE SHOW! The actor is not the handsomest but I love his character in the show! The 2 leads have oodles of chemistry and the side characters are so funny too.

Anyway, I have watched this scene maybe 2 or 3 times now, and I just think it's soooooo sweet! heh. This is in episode 8. Joo-eun (lead female character's name) returned to her hometown in North Daegu for the night. Young Ho (lead male character's name) drives all the way there to meet her because they just had a spat. Young Ho calls her to a bridge:

When she gets to the bridge and runs nearer to him, she then comes to a standstill and just looks at him. So he says (see subtitles, heh):

Of course she gets the message and happily runs towards him, and the super-swoon-worthy moment for me is when he opens up his jacket so that when he wraps his arms around her, he covers her with his jacket too!
Sighhhhhh.... So sweet!!:)

And I really like how Young Ho wants his "disciples" to know, whereas Joo-eun wants to keep quiet about their relationship for now because she is embarrassed. Young Ho and his 2 disciples are really funny. They are usually very driven and crazy-health-conscious, always exercising all the time, but due to the absence of Joo-eun, they were all 'vegging out', which is TOTALLY unlike them.

They all perk up the moment they hear her come through the door and say that she is back. The 2 disciples help her with her stuff and move into the kitchen while Young Ho pretends to stretch but he actually invites Joo-eun into a hug - SUPER CUTE!!

OKAY. I'm done swooning. I will do more screenshots like that the next time I have the time and when I REALLY love those scenes in the show... haha.

And you may be wondering how come I have the time in the middle of a work day to do this... Well... It's because I'm on half day leave and I'm going to Bangkok tonight!!!! I really cannot wait to just forget about work, even if it's just for 1.5 days. The exciting thing is to go to the airport and fly off to somewhere (even if it is just for the weekend and the weekend is going to be over before we know it, sigh).

After Monday lectures, Po Yew, Janice and I made a quick trip to the Millenium Gardens just next to Law School to take photos. Magical Christmas 2009 has come 11 months early

It has been snowing most of today, and everything is covered in snow - a beautiful, magical, pretty sight! It really is unbelievable how much snow there now is in Nottingham. Because it's Nottingham! It never snows in Nottingham, at least not for many many years past! Even in London, I heard that it's snowing so much that Heathrow airport was closed, train and tube services were stopped, SCHOOL LESSONS WERE CANCELLED! Why can't we have classes cancelled over here?! When I first woke up, I knew it would snow at certain points of today (but I didn't expect THIS much snow!). Like some Airline video

I just watched the 3+ minutes of the "final chapter" of Little Nyonya, the Channel 8 drama serial that ended last week. [Spoiler alert] I think it is so unnecessary? Anyhow, from the time of 2:59 onwards, I felt like I was watching some kind of Airline video, the one where they would show before the airplane takes off, briefing all passengers on what to do in cases of emergencies and stuff like that? Seeing Chen Xi stand behind Yueniang like that reminds me of when the air stewards and stewardesses on the video would end the video saying, "Thank you for your attention. Have a pleasant flight." Don't you think so? On the topic of Little Nyonya, I read an article from Mediacorp TV about this "Final Chapter" and I really wonder why people are making so much noise over a drama serial such that Mediacorp people have to step out to make further explanation!
