New Zealand 2012 Ramblings: Day 10 - day on the farm
-1 September 2012, Saturday (Officially 1st day of spring in NZ)-
Photo of the day - 6 free range "chooks" following after me and Lynette thinking that we have food for them:
Mike went off to work while Lynette stayed at home and brought me around the rest of the day. After breakfast, Lynette took me round her garden, introduced me to her son and daughter-in-law who live in a trailer nearby, and showed me their free range chickens ("chooks").
Then she gave me a ride around their land on their quad-bike!

She was very polite in her driving and didn't go very fast. She didn't want mud or water splashing up such that it would get me/us dirty. I'm grateful to her for that:D I think Mike would probably have gone much MUCH faster if he was around to show me around on the bike...
Anyway, I was amazed at the beautiful land and scenery that they have:

We had a simple lunch of toast bread. Lynette told me many stories of her encounters with Jesus, His angels, and of her being in heaven. She is in the midst of getting her book published. The book is all about her encounters with God in heaven and here on earth. She sees visions all day long and angels every where. Her relationship with God is so real and she talks to Jesus and the Holy Spirit whenever, wherever. People would think she is crazy and it would get them all freaked out, but I realised that I wasn't. I thought I would be in total disbelief because the things she said would seem like there's no basis to it at all - as in, I thought I would need to see it to truly believe it. But I found myself marveling at the tenderness and loveliness of God as she described her encounters with Him and all His creation. I saw that her focus was solely on Him and how she was His beloved, nothing else mattered.
She showed me that Jesus loves to have fun. She took off her wedding ring and held it against the corner of 2 walls while asking God to let it stay there, against all laws of gravity. And it did! She then brought me around the house and showed me coins in random spots of the house. The photo on the right shows the word "love" outlined in coins? That one was actually done by her son.
Then she asked me to have a go at it. And I did. My coin is the one on the left!:)
Lynette then brought me on a drive to see more of the beautiful scenery. The rolling hills just awed me:
Lynette gardens at a homestead nearby, which has HUGE grounds. This station has 2000 acres of land, and I suppose it has lots and lots of sheep and cattle as well. She called up the owner of the homestead and got permission for us to have a look around the house and the land. IT WAS AWESOME. I felt like I was on the set of Pride and Prejudice or something like that. I thought Mr Darcy would turn up anytime soon, walking out of the lake that this homestead had! Just look at the big lawn in front of the house:
With the permission of the kind owner, we drove over to the sheep shearing station on the grounds. First, she let me have a look at the lambs that were waiting to be fed. One lamb was small enough to slip through the fence to come closer to us. Lynette had to keep putting it back in, while trying to avoid the electric wires:
You could see the lambs sucking on Lynette's finger? I gave it a try too. And almost instantly they all gathered around my finger thinking I was an ewe who could give them milk the moment they started sucking! Sorry guys, I don't have any milk for you...
Then we drove back to the house, and I read a bit more of the manuscript of Lynette's book before I switched over to this very interesting book aunty Joy lent me. It's called "How to Stop the Pain" by Dr James B. Richards. It's easy to read and extremely engaging. And it is really hitting me deep down in my heart.
But anyway, I sat out on the deck a little while as I read the book... It was the most wonderful environment to read and ponder and to talk with God:
It was then dinner time. Mike came home and we ate the quiche Lynette prepared. We talked about traveling and they asked about Singapore. So after dinner, Lynette got out her laptop and we went on Google Earth. I showed them my home and LSBC. I showed them our roads, the CTE, our international airport, Orchard Road, the Singapore River... We were amazed at how Singapore is only the size of Lake Taupo.
It was a great time talking to them! I went to bed tired, but so satisfied and happy from the day's experiences.
