BKK 12 Dec 2015 - shopshopshop

Image
12 December 2015, Saturday , we wanted to wake up early to head to Chatuchak Market for breakfast. But everybody just lay in bed until it was really late and we only left the apartment at about 10ish 11! haha We headed to Chatuchak Market and randomly decided to eat at Lamoon Cafe. The omelette atop my rice was wonderfully fluffy! We spent the entire afternoon shopping at Chatuchak Market! About midway through the afternoon, we randomly (I think everything about Chatuchak Market is random) walked past a foot-shoulder massage place. We ducked in for a 30-minute foot massage, which was a really good break. I think we left Chatuchak Market close to 6pm. We took a cab back to the apartment to drop off all our stuff, use the bathroom, then we left to go to the real  train night market, Talad Rot Fai Seacon. We had yummy lobster noodles, found the new spot of the yummy wanton noodles, and enjoyed lots of walking the stalls and shopping! We reached back "home"...

BKK 11 Dec 2015 - YES OF COURSE!

Friday, 11 December 2015 , as with all our other mornings in Bangkok, it was a really slow start. We eventually left the apartment and headed to some doggy cafe. I was under the impression that Denise was the one who requested to go to this cafe because it is known to have many huskies and Denise loves dogs. Of course, I am a dog lover and it was some place new and interesting, so I was happy to go too. We took the BTS to Ari station. Because we had time, we decided to take the slow, approximately 20-minute walk in to the place. It was hot, but we kept right on walking and finally reached the place, which I discovered to be called "True Love Cafe". For 350 baht per person, we got a free cake/ice cream and drink. We each ordered a main dish as it was brunch for us. We were first given a table inside, then moved to a table outside so that we could be closer to the area for the dogs to walk around freely. While eating the mediocre main dishes, we could see the dogs ro...

BKK 10 Dec 2015 - Life is getting REALLY exciting...

I just had a FANTABULOUS weekend in Bangkok with Eugene, his sister, Denise, and his mum. It is a declaratory mark to the exciting phase I am living through now - from singlehood into marriage. Therefore, I am going to make it a point to blog more and not just cheat by posting my Instagram photos on this blog! I shall start with the first "day", which just involved the flight from Singapore to Bangkok. 11 Dec, Thursday evening , I head to the airport with Eugene and aunty Jenna. Denise met us directly at the airport. I was feeling soooo happy to just get on a plane and fly away somewhere. Work was getting rather dreary and I think a bad case of wanderlust had hit me. Even if it is just a short weekend getaway to a nearby country like Bangkok. But I really enjoy Bangkok! In particular, the cheaper food and cheaper stuff that makes me feel like a dollar goes so much further as compared to Singapore. Shopping is so much more satisfying over there. We flew Air Asia...

Way overdue: 18 Jan: Day 3 of LCP BKK trip

Image
So this is way overdue but I'm thinking, "better late than never". I had originally uploaded just the photos alone and saved it as a draft to add in the words at a later date. And erm... the "later date" seems to be about 3 months later... oops, hee hee. If needed, you may want to refresh your memory by reading my entries on Day 1 and Day 2 of the LCP trip. Anyway, day 3 of our LCP BKK trip was the last full day in BKK. It was a very very different and new experience for me because, for the first time ever in my life, I was driven to Platinum Mall, right into its carpark, and on the way there, the roads were CLEAR. We spent the rest of the day in Platinum Mall. Our longest break was for lunch at the Japanese restaurant (also first time experience for me). I was too busy shopping and looking at stuff and eating so I have no photos to offer you here:D For dinner, we ate at the Four Seasons London restaurant at Megabangna, which is a huuuuuuge mal...

17 Jan: Day 2 of LCP BKK trip

Image
I was up at 5:45 to wash up. Still very sleepy because of the lack of sleep (we only slept at 00:30 BKK time the night before), I kept forgetting things and we were late for to breakfast, going down at 6:55 instead of the planned 6:45. Breakfast was very simple. But I enjoyed what is to me a holiday special of toast bread with egg and ham. The feel of the breakfast place felt like some cafeteria though, not very nice ambience. We left the hotel at about 7:45. All 17 of us squeezed into a mini bus. It was a 2 hour bus ride to the starting point of our tour of the floating market. I really enjoyed the floating market experience! My first buy of the day was a 700baht (about SGD28) giraffe made out of coconut husks which can light up. Actually Cindy was very interested to find out its price. The boat drew near to the stall and the opening price was actually 1,400baht! We talked about bargaining but that just meant that if she agreed to our price it was a done dea...
