Long Eventful Day
Yesterday, it felt like I was just traveling from place to place.
To the airport
I left the house at 6:30am to catch bus 53 to the airport to send Julie off. She left for Korea today for exchange. Jien was supposed to be there with me but she completely overslept and didn't turn up. Julie also only arrived at the airport around 7:50am, which wouldn't have been an issue to me if I didn't need to leave the airport by 8am to get to LCP to get documents and then rush down to the Subordinate (Sub) Courts.
I hugged Julie twice, said a few sentences, and then I had to leave. No photo or whatever. Just, 2 hugs. I choose to believe that it wasn't a wasted trip down to the airport to see Julie for the last time in awhile.
To LCP
At 8:05am, I rushed off to take the train to LCP to get some court documents Thomas would need for his trial. I was supposed to be at Sub Courts at 9:10am. I reached LCP around 8:55am, hurriedly rushed to the toilet, unloaded some stuff, grabbed the court documents, and I left to catch a cab to the Sub Courts.
In the end, it was just alot of waiting and listening the entire morning. In the end, there wasn't much of a trial because the case was settled. So, as Thomas would put it, "there were no fireworks to see".
To Geylang
After having an early lunch with Thomas, Diana and Samantha immediately after the trial ended, I was back in the office. But only for about an hour.
At 2:15pm, I left the office to take a train to Aljunied MRT. I had to bring down an Affidavit to a witness to sign in the presence of her nephew and a commissioner who could speak Thai.
To LCP
The whole signing thing probably took only about 10 minutes. I then took the train back to LCP, and got caught in the heavy rain in the meantime, which left my shoes soaking wet. Sigh.
Back at LCP, at least there was Ah Di to entertain us. Dear Adrian is hilarious. He was wearing this super duper old pair of Adidas shoes that he has worn since Secondary 1 (i.e age 13). He turns 19 this year.
Anyway, this pair of shoes decided to completely come apart from its soles. And when I entered the office after getting back from Geylang, the first thing I saw was this:
Adrian was using masking tape to tape the soles back together to the rest of his shoes. It really was a hilarious sigh to behold.
Can you spot the difference in colours and the masking tape?
He then went out to deliver two documents for the conveyancing department. It was still raining heavily. When he stepped into a puddle of water, the masking tape desperately trying to hold his shoes together completely came apart. He asked for string at the first law firm, tied his shoes together. On the way to the second law firm, those strings came apart. So at the second law firm, he asked for string yet again. He also used 2 plastic bags. So, this is what his shoes looked like when he returned to the office:
And he still refuses to buy new shoes. He claims that this pair of shoes can still last him for another 1 or 2 years.
He never fails to amaze me.
To home
At 6:15pm, I left LCP and rushed home for dinner because I had Japanese tuition at 8pm.
To Japanese tuition
At 7:30pm, I left the house with my dad, who graciously volunteered to fetch me to tuition.
It was a good lesson. But throughout the lesson I was forcing myself to concentrate, forcing my eyes to stay open, forcing my mouth to stay closed when I had to yawn, forced my brain to keep moving and thinking and remembering whatever was being taught...
It was trying. But I still learnt new things and I still enjoy myself at lesson.
TO HOME
YES THE DAY FINALLY ENDED.
