January so far
For the month of January, it is called the "Prayer Foundation" month for the church as we begin the year with a very strong prayer initiative. For the first week of January, we had prayer meetings from 8-9pm from Monday to Thursday. On Friday, we had a prayer concert from 8-9.30. I attended the prayer meetings on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of that week.
Wednesday of week before last, 5 Jan: Prata after Prayer
After the prayer meeting on Wednesday, I had supper with James, Shu-En, Joanne, Eliz and Eugene. We actually sat there for more than half an hour. We got there at about 9.30pm, all ready to order, only to be told that all pratas are only served from 10pm onwards. So we decided to sit there and wait. In the meantime, we talked and laughed about.

Friday of week before last, 7 Jan: Happy birthday Faith!
On Friday, I rushed down to church after work to have a short, rushed worship practice for the Prayer Concert that night. After the Prayer Concert, we gave Faith a bouquet of 30 white roses to celebrate her birthday.
I must thank Eugene for helping me get the white roses! I wish I could've gotten them but I didn't have the time in between work and getting to church by 7pm for the worship practice! It really was a mad, tiring rush for me that night. But the Prayer Concert was fantastic and I had a great time playing the 3rd keyboard.
Saturday of week before last, 8 Jan: 14 of us at Tomoe Japanese Restaurant
After Youth Ablaze on Saturday, 14 of us drove to Tomoe Japanese Restaurant in 3 cars for dinner. It was a REALLY busy night for the restaurant and we were a really big group. So we waited a super duper long time for our food. We took photos from different angles...

And all the iPhones and iPod Touches were whipped out to entertain the bored, hungry people.
When the food came, everyone tucked in. But the poor 3 people sitting across the table from me looked so squeeze! Well, rather it was Eugene and Kah Wan who were squeezed at the corner... For the photo on the right, Joel Ng just had to join in and make things more squeezy between the four of them:)

Last Thursday, 13 Jan: New computer screens & cake-cutting
LCP got in 20 new CPUs and computer screens. The new screens are just so big and... new!
On Thursday, it was Roger's birthday. You can see Roger cutting the cake in the left photo. He's one of the lawyers at LCP. After singing the birthday song and letting him have the first cut of the banana chocolate cake from Awfully Chocolate, uncle Edwin the "professional cake cutter" in LCP stepped in and proceeded to cut the cake into neat slices for everyone to enjoy.

Tuesday, 18 Jan: Stepping into Nex!
On Tuesday night after work, I met Eugene for dinner. We went to Nando's at Plaza Singapura... PLEASE DON'T GO THERE. The service is inadequate, the serving portions are miserably small for the price you pay, the food is mediocre, and they don't serve ice water!
Feeling a bit disappointed, I wanted something sweet. So we went to New Zealand All Natural Cafe (I hope I got the name correct) at Nex Serangoon. The chocolate ice cream was really good! I found the vanilla flavour a bit too sweet for my liking.
Anyway, Nex shopping mall opened in December 2010, just 1 MRT stop away from Kovan, and yet this is only my first time stepping into the mall! There weren't that many people at that time so I managed to avoid the crowds that I have heard of, checking out the new mall in the neighbourhood.
Yesterday, Saturday, 22 Jan: Celebrating Daniel's birthday
This year, I officially returned to Youth Ablaze as a leader. I am co-leading a cell group of 17-year-olds with fellow leaders, James, Pei Fen and Ching Yee. They are a friendly, great bunch of kids and I am very happy to get a chance to be a part of this cell group.
Yesterday, it was Daniel's 17th birthday. His family were so sweet in arranging everything. They bought the cake from Bengawan Solo, and delivered it to church together with plates, forks, spoons, serviettes, candles and a lighter!
