10th week here

My goodness, I've been away from home for 10 weeks now... And I'm actually going back for a "visit" in a matter of 2-3 weeks now. It actually feels strange, knowing that I'm returning home for about 3 weeks, then I'm coming back here again for another 2-3 months...

Well, my internet connection has been so freaking slow that I'm getting very frustrated. Suddenly, after not using my internet for the weekend because I was in London, I come back and websites take the longest time to load. Something about not being able to open the page because the server stopped responding. Can somebody PLEASE tell me what is going on with my internet? Last night, I got so frustrated having to keep reloading websites, especially when I couldn't gain access into WestLaw, the place I log into to download case reports and journals that I need to read in preparation for my tutorials and seminars. Eventually, I got so annoyed that I was getting nowhere and that I couldn't download any cases, that I just gave up, washed up and went to bed.

Anyhow, let me tell you 2 highlights of my 9th week in Nottingham, besides the weekend I spent in London.

1) "Chilling out" night on Monday
Dinner was not as satisfying as we wished it to be, so Tzen and I walked out to the small convenience store in Broadgate park and bought ourselves a tub of Ben&Jerry's. Then we returned to my room and watched an episode of House and Grey's Anatomy with the additional company of Ben and Jerry. We actually finished the whole tub of ice-cream... I tell you, you can expect to see a fatter Lynn Ern if you meet me in December. Here's a shot of Tzen and I pre-Ben&Jerry's:

2) Shopping on Wednesday
As we only had one class on Wednesday morning, Angie, Po Yew, John and myself decided to go into Nottingham's city centre to do some shopping. Po Yew needed warm clothing, Angie and I wanted to add some colour to his cupboard (everything he has is BLACK!). Daniel joined us in town later on. We all left town with our pockets slightly emptier, but slightly happier because we had each bought something. Po Yew got a warm winter jacket. Angie and I both bought jackets as well (I'm sorry Daddy and Mummy, spent quite a bit on the jacket. I'll be sure not to go shopping again this month:D). John got a T-shirt and cap, while Daniel bought a T-shirt and track pants. So, yay, productive shopping trip! Oh and the photo below is of John standing beside this great, big table of sweets and gummies in Broadmarsh Shopping Centre:

All right. More on London trip will come later. Next entry, hopefully.

Now, I'm just going to go take a nap. I will then wake up, have my sandwich-lunch while I continue to prepare for my constitutional and tort tutorials that are both on Friday this week. Well, at least I survived another seminar of Understanding Law. And next week, it will be the very last seminar I ever have to attend with that seminar-leader-from-hell!
