FIRSTS - Part II
First TRIP TO THE UNISEX TOILET:
My room is very near to the fire exit, the pantry and the toilet - a good thing. But I realized that my toilet is a mixed one. So, my first time I went in after my parents and Richard had "deposited" me in Florence Boot (FB) Hall, I saw a guy's back towards me in one of the three cubicles in the toilet. He was peeing. Oh my goodness when I saw that, I quickly ran as quietly as possible into the furthest cubicle from him and closed the door on me.
I really need to get used to seeing boys using the same toilet as me.
However, I have been waking up early in the mornings so that I will be the first one in the toilet and shower, having the toilet to myself. The silence in the toilet, corridor and my own room can be quite deafening, but I'm trying very hard to get used to it.
First SKYPE CONVERSATION WITH MY PARENTS:
Yesterday afternoon (UK time, Singapore night time), I talked to my parents on Skype and it was an interesting experience that will keep repeating over the next 3 years, I am sure. Midway through my hour-long "update" with them, my French Hall mate, Stefanie, came knocking on my door. She then had a short, interesting conversation with my parents - in Cantonese. My French friend knows cantonese better than English.
First DINNER IN TOWN:
I was fortunate enough to meet up with a whole group of Singaporeans at Registration on Monday. They were all familiar faces because we had all been at the pre-departure event previously organised in Singapore. Of the 10 of us that usually hang out together, 6 of us take law. So at least I have companions to my Law lectures now.
Anyhow, yesterday, it was Po Yew's 21st birthday. To celebrate it for him, we went to The Corner House in town for dinner. We ended up having dinner at T.G.I.Friday's. Then we went to Mooch on our school campus for some drinks. At which Po Yew, Angie and Denise got rather drunk. We walked back to our respective Halls in the freezing cold.

First LUNCH IN THE NUMBING COLD BY THE LAKE:
So. Yesterday was Po Yew's birthday. Today, it was Hong Zhen's birthday. In the late morning, we walked into Beeston, the nearest town, to buy a cake for her from Sainsbury's. We then very foolishly went to the Arts Centre to have our lunch out in the cold. The sun was out today, but the wind was ridiculously cold. Our fingers were frozen and we felt completely silly torturing ourselves. By the end of the lunch, I could not sms properly - it became the most painful procedure. However, we still had a fun time.

*Many photos weren't taken using my camera. I think I 'stole' quite a number of photos from Angie's facebook.
Well, I'm collecting so many "first experiences" in my life right now that I can't list all of them here. Tomorrow, I'm starting my first day of lectures - How exciting!:)
