7 days to go
Ever since I got back from the US, I haven't had the chance to update the blog. Or rather I've been to lazy to do it. BUT, here I am updating!
So. My week has been hectic in a relaxed sense. I have been meeting people, doing things I Need to do before I leave... such that my days are never completely free/slack. Yet, what with things to do every day, I still don't feel stressed or fatigued. That's why I say my week has been hectic in a relaxed sense.
My schedule in general so you can get a better understanding of what I've been up to:
Saturday (1st Sept) - Worship practice (Zombie playing the keyboard due to jetlag), had dinner with Wei Chuen & Limiin (the most wonderful couple-friends I could ask for).
Sunday - After 2 services of keyboard-playing duty and lunch with the 19-year-olds, Eliz, Shu-En, Joanne and Kah Wan hung out at my house for awhile. Dinner with my Aunty's family at Kuriya (JAP FOOD! YUM YUM. Again, zombie having dinner due to jetlag).
Monday - Medical checkup that's required on the UK side, lunch with LCP friends and hanging out for awhile (did a little bit of work for Uncle KK), cell bonding stayover with Sec 3 cell.
Tuesday - Spent the whole day with my Sec 3s (Bondings with my Sec 3s always make me feel so old...)
Wednesday - Lunch with Wendy (SUSHI! JAP FOOD! YUM YUM), dinner with Daniel at Heartland Mall (He was so gentlemanly in being willing to come down to Hougang because lazy me didn't want to travel down to town where he was. Thanks Daniel!).
Thursday - Visited Tung Ling with my dad (he was speaking at their morning devotion), worship practice for the dinner the next day with Mel Goh and my sister, ice-cream lunch with Jien, short stop at Ms Tan's place (It was soooo exciting to see her centre coming up!), finished "Nineteen Minutes" by Jodi Picoult (READ THIS BOOK PLEASE).
Friday - Macs breakfast with Tina, slacked at home the rest of the day, church dinner to celebrate our 10th anniversary of CP work in Hougang (Got a free towel with my church logo on it, I'm definitely bringing it to the UK).
Saturday - Dimsum lunch with my family at Great World (DIMSUM! YUM YUM), helped out at the worship practice of Youth Ablaze, dinner with my Young Adult cell group at Geylang (SUPER EXCITING night that ended with fruits at Ben&Lydia's house. I don't think I'm ever going back there to work around).
Talking about last night at Geylang, it was really very interesting! There were only 3 19-year-old girls present - Amy, Jolene and myself - with 4 19-year-old guys. They were the girls' bodyguards. I mean, the food was absolutely delicious (Frog porridge with other side dishes, 'tau huay' with 'you tiao'). But it was after all the eating that it got a leetle scary. We had to cross the road to the fruit stall to buy fruits. Traffic was too heavy though, so we decided to make a big detour to cross at the traffic light. It was along this detour that the 3 girls got bodyguards. Actually, if the 3 of us were just standing by the road by ourselves, a very leery old man may very well approach us. You see, Amy was wearing really short shorts. I was wearing a rather short skirt. Jolene, well, she was the most covered up.
I'm really thankful for the 19-year-old guys. I realized after last night that they really are so protective of the girls in my batch. Besides that, they also help us carry our bags/barang barang when we ask them to without violent objections. They eat up our leftovers, clear the trash and cook when we have cell bondings... My bodyguard (a.k.a. Joseph) sprang into a Hokkien song as we were walking back. In an effort to distract me from the men standing around? Even after our fruits session at Ben&Lydia's house, Joseph made sure I got up the stairs leading to my house safely. I mean, the guys usually walk me to the foot of the staircase, say goodnight and walk off. But this one-night-only bodyguard still thought of danger that might be lurking at the TOP of the staircase. I am convinced that he makes a GRRREAT police officer. When he ORDs, he can consider a career as a 'ge tai' singer.
So, that's it! No photos here because I was too lazy to whip up my camera. Therefore, every one who took photos with me using your own camera during this week, PLEASE, send me the photos so I can bring them with me to the UK.
Next week... my driving test... HELP.
