Something new each day

Well, today I learnt THREE new things. Or to put it in another manner, I have three discoveries of the day. :)

This morning, I had just gotten out of bed and washed my face when I heard this loud clatter downstairs. I just assumed my maid dropped the blender or something and didn't really bother. It was when I went down for breakfast when my maid came to me and said the metal plate that held the main glass door up had fallen so now the door was completely stuck. As in, it was slightly opened, stuck in a precarious position such that if anybody pushed it too hard or something moved it, the door would topple and it would probably have been broken-glass-galore.

I didn't really know what to do so we just waited until my dad came down. He later told me that this metal thing fell because my maid, from the outside, pulled the door too hard. So the effect was compounded as she opened the door in this manner every morning, and the metal plate finally dislodged itself. I then realized that there was a reason why my family would pull when exiting the house, and push when entering the house... so that the door wouldn't have to open too wide and thus apply too much pressure on the metal plating! Isn't that a wonderful discovery?!

Okok, I FORGIVE you if you find it meaningless... ;)

Because we had no ME period today, our last lesson ended at 1.15. Tina had to go home to change her contacts before returning to school for tennis training, so I joined her to go home and drop off some stuff, maybe take a nap, before returning to school as well for a SSC Exco meeting.

It was while we were walking across the bridge at the school's side gate that we made our first discovery of the day... We realized that the level of the water was so much higher than usual. Most of the time, we would be able to see the concrete below the grass patches, but now, it was completely covered! Okok so I know water levels rise and fall but it was just so cool to see something different.

As for the second thing, it's actually us taking a bus out to the MRT station and then taking a cab to school, followed by taking a cab BACK to school. You must be thinking, "HUH what kind of discovery is this?!". Well, ok, maybe it's not a discovery, but it's an EXPERIENCE, because Tina and I have always taken public transport from school, never shared a cab home or to school... There, "experience" is a better word, right? ;)

OH. Just some extra information... the door has been fixed. AND, this house seems to have things falling out/dislodging itself all over the place! Recall: the mirror in my bathroom.
