CareBears: Journey to Joke-a-lot

Today, I went to Videoezy intending to rent a few episodes of a Korean drama serial called "Full House" so that I could watch it while running on the treadmill at home. But every single disc was rented out already so I rented 2 other movies, one starring the Care Bears and the other starring Drew Barrymore.

The Care Bears are ADORABLE! Oh my gosh! Even though I felt like I was back in Kindergarten while watching this show just now, I still enjoyed the show. Here's the synopsis of the show as printed on the back of the VCD cover:

When one of his jokes goes wrong, Funshine Bear leaves Care-a-lot to find a place where his sense of humour will be appreciated. His travel takes him to Joke-a-lot, a whimsical land where humour rules and Funshine is made king! He is even given a royal sceptre guarding the magic jewels which hold the secret to Joke-a-lot's power to tickle the funny bone.

Worried about their lost friend, Tenderheart, CheerBear and the other Care Bears track down Funshine and plead with him to return home. Will Funshine choose royal laughs or heart warming companionship? Will he stayin a land where serious is a forbidden word or go back to rainbow-filled Care-a-lot? Find out in this musically charged tale full of giggles, love and lots of caring!

Want to know the ending? Go rent it from the Videoezy store near you! ;)

Random #1: SUMMER HAS COME EARLY! The weather these few days have been AWESOME. After Monday lectures, Po Yew, Janice and I made a quick trip to the Millenium Gardens just next to Law School to take photos. The sky is so blue, the sun is so bright, the grass is so green, the flowers are in full bloom... Forget about jackets. In Po Yew's words, which he said very happily, "The girls are wearing nothing!" Girls are walking around in mini skirts sans stockings and in spaghetti tops. Many people are now lounging around on grass patches too. I look out of my room window to see a group of people on the grass. And they actually brought out their computer screen from their room! Random #2: DINNER TIME FEELS LIKE LUNCH TIME Days are getting longer now. At 7pm, it feels like it's still 4pm. Get this, I took this photo at 7pm. Random #3: SMALL GROUP OUTING I actually just got back from a small group outing to the bowling alley, which also had a bar and a game arcade. A lot of pe...

Magical Christmas 2009 has come 11 months early

It has been snowing most of today, and everything is covered in snow - a beautiful, magical, pretty sight! It really is unbelievable how much snow there now is in Nottingham. Because it's Nottingham! It never snows in Nottingham, at least not for many many years past! Even in London, I heard that it's snowing so much that Heathrow airport was closed, train and tube services were stopped, SCHOOL LESSONS WERE CANCELLED! Why can't we have classes cancelled over here?! When I first woke up, I knew it would snow at certain points of today (but I didn't expect THIS much snow!). First shot of the day: Then the first of today's many snowfalls began at about 9plus in the morning. Here are 2 photos of the snow that collected on my windowsill: Another 'boliao' video of the snow falling: Before I knew it, it was time to go to school for lectures. After my 2 back-to-back lectures, I walked back with John and Po Yew. But, before we headed out of school, we went to the Dow...

Like some Airline video

I just watched the 3+ minutes of the "final chapter" of Little Nyonya, the Channel 8 drama serial that ended last week. [Spoiler alert] I think it is so unnecessary? Anyhow, from the time of 2:59 onwards, I felt like I was watching some kind of Airline video, the one where they would show before the airplane takes off, briefing all passengers on what to do in cases of emergencies and stuff like that? Seeing Chen Xi stand behind Yueniang like that reminds me of when the air stewards and stewardesses on the video would end the video saying, "Thank you for your attention. Have a pleasant flight." Don't you think so? On the topic of Little Nyonya, I read an article from Mediacorp TV about this "Final Chapter" and I really wonder why people are making so much noise over a drama serial such that Mediacorp people have to step out to make further explanation! It's quite ridiculous, frankly. Just read it here . After reading it, I laughed. AND the DVD is co...
