Discovery @ Supper

After cell group meetings on Friday nights, I'm usually too tired to join them for supper. This time around, it was an exception. It was quite a miracle actually because I was really tired throughout most of tonight's meeting. But just after word, as the last 'activity' for the night, my cell leader split the group into 2 smaller groups and challenged us to a crossword puzzle in relation to everything we had learnt from the book of Acts (we've finally finished the whole book!). It was sooooooooo fun, I felt so awake later, as if my brain was in overdrive mode.

Because I was feeling so "high" and unable to sleep even though my brain had completely stopped to function properly and sensibly, I went for supper. Some of my friends said my appearance at supper could be called something close to an eclipse.

Well, at the kopitiam, Eugene was "collecting" drink orders from us and one of my friends asked for coke-salt. When I heard it, I was mystified. Coke with SALT? What tickled me so was when Eugene repeated our orders and said, "Ok so two milo-peng, 1 horlick-peng (and he launched into a whole list of drinks, finally coming to...), and 1 coke-kiam ("salty" in Teochew). I don't know what but at that point in time, it just seemed funny. Even until now, actually.

Apparently, coke with salt is actually good for a sore throat and cough. When I heard it, I couldn't believe my ears. But it's supposed to be true. Hmm... I think I'll just stick to honey water and the magical "lidan" drink my sister introduced to me quite some time ago.
