Semester 2 begins
I was done with exams on Friday, 18 January, and had my first day of lectures today, 21 January, the first day of Semester 2 of my Year 1 in the law school of the University of Nottingham.
Besides exams gone and done with, Erica has also left Nottingham for good, what with her period of "exchange" coming to an end. She left yesterday, 20 January. With hope, I will see her in Sydney in April (if she's around and things work out such that I can go to Sydney) and maybe again in September in Hong Kong (if, again, she's around in Hong Kong and things work out in our favour).
With hope.
But I really do miss her around. Tonight, Tzen and I had our first dinner in FB without her around (We still told each other, "Ok, let's meet at 6:15pm at Erica's Staircase", referring to the staircase just outside Erica's room and the one nearest to the dining hall). We met 2 new exchange students who will be here for this semester. Michelle is from Hong Kong and Jennifer is from Korea. They seem like very nice people. I hope to get to know them better over this period of time. Although, come end of this academic year, it'll be another "goodbye"... Oh well. Until then, I shall just try to get to know them better and make more international friends. At least I still have Tzen. And then there are the Singaporeans, and Trang as well... Things will be all right. Meeting people and parting with people are things that are inevitable in life, isn't it?
Ok, I will tell you about my post-exam weekend soon. Right now, I'm feeling very, very lethargic. Have been feeling like this the whole day, and I'm not sure why. I want to think that I'm feeling so tired/sleepy/lethargic because my body is working hard at fighting all the nasty flu bugs that have been attacking and annoying me for close to 2 plus weeks now. I really hope I'm recovering. I'm sick and tired of feeling unwell. It's miserable being away from home, sick. Last week was particularly bad. I wanted so badly to be back in Singapore in my very own room, my very own bed, with my mother around to look after me and to urge me to take my medication. I wished so badly to be back at Aroozoo Avenue, Singapore, with Aida to make her 'herbal' drinks, able to see the family doctor with ease... Oh. How I wished.
I'm just going to end off here now. Will update with many many happy photos soon enough.
Oh God, let tomorrow be a good day, please.
