Happy belated birthday Joanne(Olive)!

So this is a belated post but I feel like I MUST give this One-Third birthday celebration some air time:)

It was a bright Saturday morning and One-Third(minus Jien and of course, Olive) met up earlier to settle the preparation for the surprise we were going to spring on Olive at her house. Our process of preparing was a very... public one.

First we were at the bus stop nearest to Olive's house stringing the photos. Here's Sheryl, Tina and Julie. With me included, we were the first four to arrive. Bella was the latest;)

Next, we continued making our preparations (this time to arrange the cake, tarts, candles and packets of milo) in the middle of no where. We were actually walking in towards Olive's house while doing all these things.

In the last very public step of our preparations, we lit the candles in Olive's driveway before entering the house.

After making our way up to Olive's room, "the one with the pink door" (what her mother said, and BOY was it PINK), I think we must have stood outside for a full 5 minutes, or maybe even more, while waiting for Olive to open her door. Tina was struggling to keep the candles lit while we were busy shushing our laughter, not knowing that Olive actually couldn't hear a thing because her music was blasting in her room! Well, we laughed until our stomachs and cheeks ached while waiting for the birthday girl to appear.

Our birthday "cake" consisting of one slab of chocolate fudge cake, 10 mini tarts and 7 packets of milo with our photos pasted on it. If you look closely, we've actually formed the numbers "1" and "9" to form the number "19", the age of our birthday girl!

These were the photos we were stringing at the bus stop. It's actually 19 photos of boys holding one letter each. Once we strung them together, they formed the words "Happy Birthday Joanne". Sheryl and I ran around Raffles City, City Link and Marina Square just to approach 19 boys and their parents/guardians to take a photo of them. I think my skin became THAT much thicker after the whole ordeal. What's worse was that night, I realized we were short of the 2 'H's and had an extra 'A'! So the next morning, with Tina in tow for support, I approached another 2 more boys at the Macs near our houses. WHAT AN EXPERIENCE! I guess it was all worth it lah.

Our breakfast. We got a whole tray of buns for Joanne and for ourselves because Joanne likes bread:)

So we stuffed ourselves silly with all the food we bought. We even played the game "zhong ji mi ma" to get rid of the remaining food. Bella 'kena-ed' FIVE times, must have been her lucky day!

In conclusion, our surprise was a SUCCESS, because Joanne didn't see it coming at all! Yay! To end off, a "quan jia fu":

If you look closer, Joanne's holding a photo of Jien as a stand-in for her. Also, our first One-Third photo with DANIEL! Oh and do you realize that we're all dressed in about the same colours ranging from olive to blue? We really are one "bonded" clique man... ;)
