New Tub of Moisturizer

Image
This is mainly for my own record because I want to find out how long one such tub lasts me. This is my 3rd tub from Nature Republic. And it is serving me well, keeping me moisturised. The packaging is bulky so I have to transfer it into a smaller container when I travel, but I will always give it credit for saving my (skin's) life when I first bought it in Korea to try. I last bought it from qoo10. This tub is from my sister, which she got through a friend holidaying in Korea. Both under $20 so I think it is reasonable:)

Headache again:((

Image
So I'm doing this in the middle of the work day, but my sister just sent me this link to learn how to do some head massages in a bid to relieve my headache, which I got again since this morning:/ I think the video is cute! And I just tried the massage on massage point #1 - feels good! ha

Headache All Day Long

Image
Last night, towards the end of the rehearsal, at about 10:30pm, I felt a headache coming on. It was really bad. Thank God Eugene was there to fetch me home. I went to bed with the headache. I woke up today STILL with the headache. I took 2 panadol at breakfast, another 2 at lunch - the headache persisted. The pressure was lessened when I drank a full bottle of 100 Plus, but it still stuck around. I slept on the train, took a 20-minute nap back home, it still persisted. So I'm skipping leadership cell meeting. Taking a cup of chamomile tea with a spoonful of honey, as per Mr Eugene's loving instructions (he bought me a box of chamomile tea), then I'm gonna wash up and sleep until tomorrow.

Starting Final Quarter with Sara Bareilles

Image
Eugene and I watched Sara Bareilles perform at the Esplanade Concert Hall last night, together with Kevin and Tina. It was FANTASTICALLY AWESOME. It started at 8:30pm with an opening act by one of her team mates, Misty Boyce. She sang until 9pm. Then there was a half-hour intermission. At about 9:35pm, Sara Bareilles came on and she sang all the way until 11pm. It was a whole medley of familiar and newer songs. She switched between acoustic guitar, keyboard, electric guitar and ukelele. Last night it was more of an acoustic setting with her and 2 other band members, Misty Boyce and Steve Goold. It was just 3 people, but the music was SO full and so tight, it was amazing. Misty Boyce was on the keyboards, acoustic guitar on a few songs, and backing vocals. She blended so well with Sara Bareilles! I was amazed at how she could play a bass line on 1 keyboard and play another line on the other keyboard (she had 2 keyboards, 1 stacked on top of the other). Then there was Steve Goo...

Reunion with One Third

Image
After a loooooooooooong time, One-Third managed to set a date to meet up, which was yesterday. Pity Eugene couldn't join us because he had to be at worship practice. Jien and Tina were too busy to join us too. BUT, Huang Yi joined us! It has been at least 2 years since I met Huang Yi "in the flesh" (since seeing her on photos on social media doesn't count). We met at a place called Anthesis Cafe and Bakery. It's not the most convenient place to get to via public transport. Even with a car, it can be a bit tricky to find parking spaces. But I got there anyway after taking a train to Clarke Quay and having a riverside walk for about 15-20 minutes in the humid, hot and simply oppressive weather. I had their (giant) pegasus meal and it was REALLY yummy, and, of course, way too much for me. But I loved everything about it, except the (raw) salad. But everybody helped me finish it and I was most satisfied! It was a great pity that I had to leave the earlies...

4 May: Chua family gathering - Memorial

Image
In the same month of May but in different years, my grandfather, grandmother and aunty Jenni passed away. So around this time, we would gather as an entire Chua clan and visit their niche, which are presently all at the Garden of Remembrance at (faraway) Old Choa Chu Kang Road.  We would also take the chance to remember uncle Vincent, who committed suicide at the really young age of 19 when he was living on his own in Thailand. From there, we headed to Havelock Road, Mu Liang Zai Liang Kee Teochew Restaurant. There, jiejie, Edmund, gege, Carolin and May Ern joined us. Good May Ern fell asleep in Carolin's arms for about 30 minutes and woke up just in time, at about the tail end of the dinner. This is a shot I took of aunty Elsie interacting with May Ern as May Ern started to make her baby noises that, for simplicity sake, I shall just describe as "oohs" and "ahs". Didn't I catch a good shot?? hee hee It was a very simple family affair, but most ...

Happy Birthday Gege!

Image
In celebration of my brother's birthday, the family had dinner at Crystal Jade Palace Restaurant at Taka, where we TOTALLY over-ordered. But it was a great time of enjoying good food and catching up and laughing (at least for me) at May Ern's antics and actions. We ended the night with a family photo taken at home - thank God May Ern woke up without much fussing and looked (somewhat) at the camera - I think this is a nice family photo!:) HAPPY BIRTHDAY GEGE! I thank God for such a tech-savvy brother like you. I'm so proud of you for looking out and loving Carolin and May Ern sooo much while making it a point to keep in touch with the rest of the family and serving in church. I thank God He is blessing you with stability in your job and that while you work hard, He makes and will continue to make His favour so evidently work for you. I pray that God will continue to expand your capacity and enlarge your patience and wisdom as you grow in intimacy in Him:)
