General's mad rush for his meal

I took this video this morning of General's usual craziness and mad rush for his food. It is really funny to see him try to sprint towards his food on the tiled floor, which just makes him slide around as he does the big U-turn. He tried to go straight ahead hoping the door would be opened for him. But he realised he had to go the long way so away he went. It really cracks me up!!! hahahaha

BKK 11 Dec 2015 - YES OF COURSE!

Image
Friday, 11 December 2015 , as with all our other mornings in Bangkok, it was a really slow start. We eventually left the apartment and headed to some doggy cafe. I was under the impression that Denise was the one who requested to go to this cafe because it is known to have many huskies and Denise loves dogs. Of course, I am a dog lover and it was some place new and interesting, so I was happy to go too. We took the BTS to Ari station. Because we had time, we decided to take the slow, approximately 20-minute walk in to the place. It was hot, but we kept right on walking and finally reached the place, which I discovered to be called "True Love Cafe". For 350 baht per person, we got a free cake/ice cream and drink. We each ordered a main dish as it was brunch for us. We were first given a table inside, then moved to a table outside so that we could be closer to the area for the dogs to walk around freely. While eating the mediocre main dishes, we could see the dogs ro...

When Miming is away, every day to General is a Sunday

Image
Miming is on 'home leave' this week. She left for Indonesia on Sunday afternoon and will be back this Saturday evening. In the meantime, my mum is doing light cleaning of the house and she helps me with General's afternoon snack of apples and carrot.  As for me, I am waking up by 6am every morning to bring General out for his walk, clean his area, give him his medicine and breakfast, and in the evenings I'm leaving work sharp at 6pm to reach home by 7pm to have a quick dinner, then to play with General and expend some of that energy and to do some obedience training with him before giving him his dinner and taking him out for his walk, then brush his teeth, clean his ears, spray down his area one more time, and lastly put on his cone. It has been good so far. Tiring, but not as nightmarish as it first sounded. I would say that General is in a state of mild depression from missing Miming. He barks much lesser now - he doesn't bark when the doorbell rings, ...

1st January 2014

Image
The 1st day of 2014 was a relaxed one. I got to bed at about 2:30am, and prayed to God that He'll help me wake up at 8:30am to start the year better with a morning swim. He answered my prayers and I was up and very alert at 8:30am for a 20-minute swim of 60 laps of the pool. We then left the house at about 10:30am for family dimsum lunch at Taste Paradise Ion Orchard. We got there 10:55am when the restaurant opened for its first shift of diners at 11am. The crowd waiting outside the restaurant was really big before and even after we finished lunch and left the restaurant! The food was DEFINITELY yummy. There was the really fatty char siu that would just melt in your mouth, and the crispy delicious roast pork. And I definitely had to eat their delightful double boiled hashima with egg white in young coconut for dessert... Not only was the food great, the company was great too. I love meal times with the family, and the really nice thing that made 1st Jan 2014 spec...

Last 2 weeks of Year 2013

Image
The last 2 weeks of 2013 have been good. FULL of eating, and there definitely must be some mention of the Christmas presents I got... So in a haphazard and random manner I'm just going to talk based on whatever photos I've uploaded in this entry... Eugene as I/C of Christmas Drama Production Eugene was in charge of the Christmas drama production this year. Elizabeth was the adviser. I tried to carry out the role of the girlfriend as best as I could without being too big of a busybody. One highlight of this whole experience was the prata supper I had with Eugene and Elizabeth after one of the Christmas productions. I say it is a highlight to me because I have been craving for a prata supper for the longest time now! Also, because Eugene was SO busy with the drama production, I ended up preparing most of our Christmas presents, e.g. his presents to his cell group members... Cell meetup (21st) We have been making it a point to meet up on a weekly basis. There ...
