When Miming is away, every day to General is a Sunday
Miming is on 'home leave' this week. She left for Indonesia on Sunday afternoon and will be back this Saturday evening. In the meantime, my mum is doing light cleaning of the house and she helps me with General's afternoon snack of apples and carrot.
As for me, I am waking up by 6am every morning to bring General out for his walk, clean his area, give him his medicine and breakfast, and in the evenings I'm leaving work sharp at 6pm to reach home by 7pm to have a quick dinner, then to play with General and expend some of that energy and to do some obedience training with him before giving him his dinner and taking him out for his walk, then brush his teeth, clean his ears, spray down his area one more time, and lastly put on his cone.
It has been good so far. Tiring, but not as nightmarish as it first sounded. I would say that General is in a state of mild depression from missing Miming. He barks much lesser now - he doesn't bark when the doorbell rings, which is his usual. He takes the opportunity to stand outside the room to her door to try and sniff out her scent. When I come back from work and take a peek outside through the window, he's lying by the gate, as if waiting for her to come back as she usually does through that gate. The strange (good) thing is that he is pooping less and not playing with his poop because he's pooping so much lesser to begin with... But it is good for me because that's the thing I dread the most - to have to pick up his poop after he has played with it.
I wonder how long it would take before General stops missing Miming, if we all try to imagine Miming having left us for good. And when Miming comes back, I wonder if it'll be back to his usual (more) pooping at home and playing with the poop...
Anyway, in the meantime, I will enjoy all this time I (have to) spend with my dearest dog!:)
