Marking 31 December 2011

After Youth Ablaze service, based on the initiative of Shiang Lin and team, the 17 year olds organised a little appreciation session for us leaders. There are 3 cell groups in the zone, and each cell went up to say a short thank you speech to each of their leaders, which was really sweet of them!

Then we finally went over to my house and started setting up for our steamboat dinner and eventual countdown to 2012. Once again, James was one of the "main cooks":

All the hungry people eating (in this photo we're missing Larissa, Zhulong and Weiping who joined us later):
With the radio playing in the background, and I think with the influence of some alcohol, there was some dancing at the table:

At one point of the eating, a few of them walked out to get some "fresh air", mainly to get away from the heat of the steamboat. From where we were seated, they looked like a group of smokers hanging outside a club or something...

At about 11:15pm, we started clearing up. Then adjourned to the entertainment room to countdown to 2012. It felt weird sitting at home, listening to rap songs on the Channel 5 countdown TV programme, as compared to being in church, counting down together in between worship songs...

After the countdown, the boys broke into song:

We then celebrated Joanne's birthday with ice-cream, light sticks and sparklers:
The camera flashes were REEEAAALLLY bright. And Joanne had to pose for SO many photographs, her expressions are quite funny!
On the roadside just outside my house, eating ice-cream and playing with sparklers:

We sat around, chatted, played with bubbles, until about 2:30am. And so, 2012 begins.
