Halfway into the 11th week
I'm going back to Singapore in a little over a week's time! Can't wait for it! And yet at the same time I'm afraid that once I go back, it'll be even more difficult to return to Nottingham. Furthermore, when I have to leave Singapore, it means I only have 3 days left to complete my coursework for Understanding Law and Contract, each due on the 7th and 8th of January respectively. But, it's still very exciting to talk to my Singaporean friends on MSN and at the end of conversations with them, say, "I'll see you in Singapore!" I wish I could go back earlier than 16th December though. John is leaving THIS MONDAY, Daniel is leaving Nottingham THIS TUESDAY! My goodness, I'm deathly jealous of them.
Anyway, last night, I attended FB's Christmas Formal Dinner, which had its boring and fun moments. The tables were set out so nicely and we had the crackers to pull apart and entertain ourselves with before dinner began. At certain points of the dinner, we sang Christmas carols and it was really funny, just hearing everyone sing together. Well, actually you could say that we were shouting the Christmas carols with everyone coming in at a different key. It was heartwarming and yet strange. Heartwarming to see everyone enjoying themselves together, as one hall. Strange because we actually were so many different groups/cliques of different people. Just looking at myself, I barely knew half of the people in this hall. But there we were, singing Christmas carols and laughing all together like it was a party organised by a whole big group of good friends. Food-wise, it was better than at FB's first formal! They served us soup with bread for starters. After which the main course was served - Turkey! Bacon-wrapped sausages! Stuffing! And of course, the potatoes and veggies. All right, I'll just let the photos do the talking now.

Besides this formal dinner to attend, I didn't have anything else to do yesterday. Wednesdays are now my off-days because the lectures on Wednesday have all been completed and so I woke up a little later, had breakfast, went into Beeston to post a letter to my sister, then returned to my room to prepare for my Contract tutorial, which is later today. At about 2:30pm, I left my room to catch the hopper bus to Jubilee Campus to study with Daniel. I spent the rest of the afternoon preparing for my Tort tutorial next week as I had entirely given up on Contract's topic of "Mistake" (Oh my gosh Contract can be so tough/confusing!). At about 6pm, I left Jubilee, got back to FB and hurried to change into my dress and wear my contacts. It was quite embarrassing to walk through FB to my room, walking past all the guys in tuxedos and the girls in their dresses and high heels, all going down for cocktails. And I was in my casual coat, jeans and sneakers... They really all looked at me funny. My neighbour, Oli, asked, "Lynn, you going for the formal?" To which I said, "Oh yes I am! I'm just gonna get changed now!" And he had this amused look on his face when he said, "Oh! Hurry then! You're late!"
Oh, one other thing, before I get back to my friend named Tort - Negligence: Economic Loss. I started on the box of chocolates Ben and Lydia sent to me! Here are a few more photos of it! The first two show the "chocolate menu" of this box of chocolates, the last one is of the chocolates INSIDE the box. They taste quite good! Haven't finished it yet:)
