Random Thoughts

So many things have happened since I last blogged properly, that I don't know where to start. Therefore, a summary of everything as they come to mind!

1) Fun in the Sun
It was an unusual Sunday with 1500 church members going to Palawan Beach, Sentosa, for a time of fun and relaxation instead of entering the church auditorium for the two main services. God blessed us with wonderful weather where the sun wasn't blazing hot(but we still got sunburnt anyway), the organizing committee did a great job with the planning and everything went smoothly! Of course, there were games that included playing and carrying baby Josh:)

We ended the fabulous day dead tired though.
2) "Corner with Love"
Yesterday, I completed a Taiwanese drama serial entitled "Corner with Love". If you're looking for a Taiwanese drama serial to watch, I strongly recommend this one! Yes, there are some parts that are unbelievably mushy/draggy/irritating, but it is filled with humour and the supporting characters add life to the show, as compared to other drama serials where the supporting characters are there just to waste time. Watch it watch it!

3) Transition to Nottingham
As a result of my going to Nottingham on 17th September (good friends of mine better remember this date!), I had to see the senior tester at Ubi Driving Centre for an earlier date. The date I had gotten for my driving test was originally 18th October, which is impossible because I would be in Nottingham by then. So. My new date is 14th September! Please pray that I'll pass on my first time (Although if I do pass on my first time, I'd be completely shocked)!

I also went to apply for a new passport on Monday. Singapore is so efficient I tell you. I could collect my new passport on the Friday of this same week. BUT, I waited for 3 whole hours on Friday before I could actually leave the place for home sweet home. At least I've gotten my new passport and don't need to worry about being stuck in Nottingham because my passport had expired while I was there!

Next up, need to appy for my UK visa and to do my medical checkup!

Ok, I seem to have suddenly run out of thoughts, so I'll stop here for now.

Random #1: SUMMER HAS COME EARLY! The weather these few days have been AWESOME. After Monday lectures, Po Yew, Janice and I made a quick trip to the Millenium Gardens just next to Law School to take photos. The sky is so blue, the sun is so bright, the grass is so green, the flowers are in full bloom... Forget about jackets. In Po Yew's words, which he said very happily, "The girls are wearing nothing!" Magical Christmas 2009 has come 11 months early

It has been snowing most of today, and everything is covered in snow - a beautiful, magical, pretty sight! It really is unbelievable how much snow there now is in Nottingham. Because it's Nottingham! It never snows in Nottingham, at least not for many many years past! Even in London, I heard that it's snowing so much that Heathrow airport was closed, train and tube services were stopped, SCHOOL LESSONS WERE CANCELLED! Why can't we have classes cancelled over here?! When I first woke up, I knew it would snow at certain points of today (but I didn't expect THIS much snow!). Like some Airline video

I just watched the 3+ minutes of the "final chapter" of Little Nyonya, the Channel 8 drama serial that ended last week. [Spoiler alert] I think it is so unnecessary? Anyhow, from the time of 2:59 onwards, I felt like I was watching some kind of Airline video, the one where they would show before the airplane takes off, briefing all passengers on what to do in cases of emergencies and stuff like that? Seeing Chen Xi stand behind Yueniang like that reminds me of when the air stewards and stewardesses on the video would end the video saying, "Thank you for your attention. Have a pleasant flight." Don't you think so? On the topic of Little Nyonya, I read an article from Mediacorp TV about this "Final Chapter" and I really wonder why people are making so much noise over a drama serial such that Mediacorp people have to step out to make further explanation!
