Morning discovery

I decided to watch tv while eating my breakfast just now when I stumbled onto Channel 8, which was showing chinese cartoons or programmes for kids from something like 8-11am. It just so happen that they were showing Doraemon at that time. Aiyo, Doraemon's so cute! Just look at him!

Anyhow, I wish MY hippo could talk to me the way Doraemon talks to 'xiao(3) siong(2)'. And with different kinds of magical instruments/machines, take me back in time or let me fly on a butterfly/dragonfly... (You see, today's half-hour episode was on how Doraemon and 'xiao siong' went back in time with this special remote control and also about how Doraemon let 'xiao siong' sit a dragonfly to fly about...

I've also come to a conclusion that next time if I ever do have kids and once they're in kindergarten or something, I will let them watch Doraemon because I believe that it will help to improve their Chinese, or at least increase their LIKING for Chinese. The most important reason is -- Doraemon is just too cute already lah! :)

Random #1: SUMMER HAS COME EARLY! The weather these few days have been AWESOME. After Monday lectures, Po Yew, Janice and I made a quick trip to the Millenium Gardens just next to Law School to take photos. The sky is so blue, the sun is so bright, the grass is so green, the flowers are in full bloom... Forget about jackets. In Po Yew's words, which he said very happily, "The girls are wearing nothing!" Magical Christmas 2009 has come 11 months early

It has been snowing most of today, and everything is covered in snow - a beautiful, magical, pretty sight! It really is unbelievable how much snow there now is in Nottingham. Because it's Nottingham! It never snows in Nottingham, at least not for many many years past! Even in London, I heard that it's snowing so much that Heathrow airport was closed, train and tube services were stopped, SCHOOL LESSONS WERE CANCELLED! Why can't we have classes cancelled over here?! When I first woke up, I knew it would snow at certain points of today (but I didn't expect THIS much snow!). Like some Airline video

I just watched the 3+ minutes of the "final chapter" of Little Nyonya, the Channel 8 drama serial that ended last week. [Spoiler alert] I think it is so unnecessary? Anyhow, from the time of 2:59 onwards, I felt like I was watching some kind of Airline video, the one where they would show before the airplane takes off, briefing all passengers on what to do in cases of emergencies and stuff like that? Seeing Chen Xi stand behind Yueniang like that reminds me of when the air stewards and stewardesses on the video would end the video saying, "Thank you for your attention. Have a pleasant flight." Don't you think so? On the topic of Little Nyonya, I read an article from Mediacorp TV about this "Final Chapter" and I really wonder why people are making so much noise over a drama serial such that Mediacorp people have to step out to make further explanation!
