first day

Today, the 10th of April, marks my first day of work at my dad's law firm! Looking back on my day, the first thing that comes to mind is the GREAT number of times I walked back and forth between my desk and the photocopier. I have also become Uncle KK's personal assistant, printing and photocopying documents for him, going down to the first floor to collect cheques for him, going down to the second floor to get lawyers to sign documents... BUT I'm glad I've started work. I'm tired, but it's an exciting, new experience and I'm going to enjoy it just in case the novelty wears off(and I'm sure it will, sometime soon)! TOMORROW: I'm going to work with TINA MAMA! YAYYYY:)

Inspirational

Yesterday, for the first time in my entire life(I think), I woke up at 4.30am to bathe and get ready so that I could take bus 53 to the airport to send Wei Ye off to China. He is going to be away for six whole months before coming back to Singapore! A whole bunch of us turned up to send him off and we gave him a cap and photo album(put together by Joanne, Lynette, Yurong and Rachel). After Wei Ye had left, we headed to McDonald's for breakfast together. Here are a few photos: From the airport, I went to church for worship practice from 10am-1.15pm. Then I rushed home to prepare for Inspiration Unveiled! Inspiration Unveiled was an event organised with the hope that people aged 14-28(but there were many people out of this age group who were also present) would be inspired to lead more fulfilling and inspirational lives after listening to 4 personal testimonies. These 4 testimonies were presented in a talkshow manner with Cynthia, my dearest cousin, as the host. The 4 interviewees c...

My 19th (super long BUT INTERESTING entry)

This has been the most wonderful birthday WEEK I can remember in my whole entire life. I guess it is also particularly precious because this is the probably the last birthday I am going to celebrate in Singapore for the next 3 years at least, since I will be going overseas to study come September. We must not dwell on the more depressing thoughts though. Instead, let me turn your attention to my Fun and Fantastic week I have had so far. Monday, 2nd April Met my Saints Sports Club(SSC) Exco friends-only the girls. All the boys couldn't make it, which seemed kind of ironic to me at first, as I thought this was a farewell dinner for the boys who were enlisting for NS. I was unaware that the dinner was actually a celebration of my birthday! They sang "happy birthday" to me very quietly[Thanks, guys!;)] at Cafe Cartel, and presented me with a bracelet from Perlini's Silver! Thank you so much, Renling, Yinmay, Hui Ling and Wentong! Tuesday, 3rd April To no surprise of my ow...

Post-Tung Ling: Random thoughts

Today marks the first weekday of my post-Tung Ling life. What did I do with it? Well, I spent the whole morning and much of my afternoon fiddling around with my new handphone. It is a Nokia E65, sort of like a birthday present from my father[Haven't confirmed with him yet;)], and I bought this new handphone together with my sister, who got another Nokia phone too. I think this whole "buying a new handphone" business has become a tradition where, once my sister gets a new handphone, I get a new handphone too:) Tonight I'm meeting up with my Saints Sports Club Exco friends! Can't wait to see them again! Will blog about it as soon as I transfer all the photos. It has been such a long time since we last met and now, we're meeting for a farewell dinner to the boys who are enlisting into the army so super soon. If you ask me what I'm listening to, I will excitedly tell you that I'm listening to Neil Sedaka. He is one oldie, but his songs are so pop-ish and n...

Tung Ling Graduation

Image
I had my graduation service on the 29th of March, Thursday night. It was a splendid affair with everything going smoothly, almost without a hitch. We only missed singing the last song "Hallelujah to the Lamb" and I made many mistakes while playing the 2nd keyboard. But all these are all small things. The better things to focus on consist of: - The march-in song played without a hitch! (you must understand that I chose the march-in song, I also edited the song a little so that the introduction of the song wouldn't be too long) - Worship went well (Of course, messy, and I made many mistakes, but it'll do! No MAJOR hiccups) - The video went well and "Testify to Love" was a hit! My friends in church now keep humming/singing the song because they just can't get it out of their heads! - The photographs of all my classmates appeared at the right time when it came to the giving out of certificates, with a million and one "thankies" to Kah Wan! - I actu...

AVAILABLE

So. When I woke up this morning and went down for breakfast, I found a plain envelope addressed to me. Inside, there was a simple party invitation and I'm supposed to inform the party planners of my availability "via a post on your[my] otherwise soon-to-be-defunct blog". Well, party planners, I'm free and I will reserve my Tuesday night for you all! Just to help you out a little in your planning, I've a driving lesson from 11.30am-1pm on Tuesday. Other than that, I'll PROBABLY be slacking at home:) Since I've graduated from Tung Ling Bible College and have so much more time on my hands, I will DEFINITELY blog more. This blog will NOT be defunct. My next entry will be on my Tung Ling life in general, but I won't add it now as I am still uploading the photos I took from my graduation service and the last day of school(which was yesterday). Thank you for your patience. I am going to pack my cupboard now.

Happy CNY!

The Chinese New Year holiday is coming to an end, which suddenly made myself give a kick in my own butt to start up my blogging again. It has been awhile, because I just couldn't bring myself to blog about anything. Recently, all I can say to questions like, "How's school?" or "How are you?" is the dissatisfied "Ok lor". I want to say more and I feel like I need to say more, but the words do not flow as easily as I hoped they would. So I am going to attempt to at least write something before I completely give up/forget about blogging. Through some effort on my part to consolidate some of my emotion, I realized that there are changes I need to adapt to as a result of decisions I made this year. Changes that are, I find, not easy to get used to. But I'll find a way! [Here, I am reminded of how my classmates in Tung Ling, Jonathan and Joanne, sang to me the song that goes, "God will make a way, when there seems to be no way" the day I m...
