#startyourerngene Official Photos are Here!

We met up with our wedding photographer, Goderic, yesterday, and received the official wedding (and pre-wedding) photographs from him in such an awesome box! We really love his eye for details. We took a quick scroll through all the actual day photos last night and he caught beautiful moments. He also made special effort to photograph every person who helped in one way or another to make the day (and night) a success and so enjoyable for Eugene and me.  He had actually put together this video consisting of the day-only photos to be shown at the dinner banquet, but we didn't have the time to show it properly with the song. It was actually just playing on loop throughout the dinner. Here it is with the songs he chose:

01.10.16

Image
Days leading up to 1 October 2016 were tiring and stressful, but I think they were all worthwhile thinking back to how much I enjoyed 1 October 2016. It went by too quickly. I miss wearing my wedding and evening gowns! heh. Here is the awesome Wedding Day Express highlights video done by Douglas and his team at XD Studio - LOVE IT TO BITS: I thank God for the great day He made it. He provided good weather and made everything come together so nicely. He gave us a great team of friends and vendors (Goderic for photography, Shirley for the bridal studio doing hair, makeup, flowers and of course the fantastic dresses, Douglas for video, and Joo Geek for MBS) who made the day so enjoyable for Eugene and me. It was everything I imagined, and so much more. I wish it went on just a little longer!

9 Jan, Sat - Theodore & Clara's wedding

Image
As you may have seen from my Instagram photograph, and you may have guessed a little, but Eugene and I were involved in his poly friend's wedding. Eugene and Theodore remain close from their poly days. Eugene was Theodore's best man. As a result, I got to know the bride, Clara, and became one of her bride's maids. By some miracle, on Friday night, I spent some time learning how to do this fishtail braid, and I am so pleased that it came out looking not too bad! It was a tiring day, but a really fun one. The wedding dinner had guest storm troopers and flight crew from Star Wars because Theodore linked up with this interest group that loves to do stuff like that, with the money paid to them being directed to a charity. It attracted loads of attention and kept guests occupied with photo taking as they waited for the doors to open. I was helping at the reception table together with Louise and Adele. There were 40 tables and people kept coming, and it got really c...

12 Apr - William & Phebe's wedding

Image
On 12 April, Saturday, it was a rainy day. It was also the day William finally married Phebe! The wedding ceremony at LSBC started at 11am. Phebe wore such a demure and ladylike gown! One thing I like about weddings - we make the effort to dress up a little! The dinner was at Meritus Mandarin - same as my brother and Carolin. There were much lesser tables though - 50 instead of 70. Phebe's gown was more elaborate now, as compared to her very simple and demure gown in for the wedding ceremony. I was seated with worship team people like Denis and family, Jon Tsang and Christel, Douglas and Charmaine, Karyne, Eugene and Victoria. We were joking that our table consisted of a full band - drummer, guitarists, pianists, vocalists and sound man. Anyway, the food was good and seated directly opposite me was cute baby Dana. I really liked the crab with 'mantou' and the 'oh nee' (yam paste)! It was an enjoyable wedding dinner:)

Cousin Melvin's wedding dinner

Image
My cousin Melvin finally married his long time sweetheart Ying Shi. It is supposed to be a very auspicious day, and on top of that (or maybe this is a factor counting towards its auspicious-ness), it is also his 27th birthday. The dinner was held at The Ritz Carlton. About 70 tables! I liked how the waiting area outside the Grand Ballroom was really big, and besides the usual Photo Booth at one corner, there were chocolate sculptures lying around for guests to break off and eat. Even on the tables inside the ballroom, there were pieces of chocolates of 3 different flavours strewn artistically in the center of the table. One of my eldest cousins in the Tan family "sneaked" in this large piece of the sculpture outside. The chocolates lasted us throughout the night. It was a good and delicious distraction as we sat through the long waiting before the dinner and in between dishes. There were 6 dishes on the menu, but each dish had many expensive items. The servin...

Flashback to 21.09.13: Doreen Teo's Wedding

Image
If you're wondering why I am blogging about something SO old, it's because this blog post has been sitting as a Draft for soooo long. I uploaded the photos and just never got round to filling in the post with words. Anyway, on 21.09.13, I attended Doreen Teo's wedding dinner at One°15 Marina Club at Sentosa Cove. The surprise of the night was that Eugene and I were seated at different tables, which led us to the conclusion that at the time that they planned the seating, they weren't aware that Eugene and I were together... But this self-amusing point aside, I think the bears as door gifts were cute. I'd much prefer door gifts that were more practical than this, but they're just cute to look at I suppose. The food was also okay too. My favourite dish of the night was the poached 'live' prawns in Chinese Wine. Not because it was more delicious than the rest, but because Eugene (who had swapped over to the empty seat beside me so that we were...

Fact: Bro wears a ring now

I know I should just get over myself and move on from this fact, but I still haven't gotten used to seeing a ring on my brother's left hand. Why? Because he isn't an accessories person who is into cuff links or bracelets or necklaces. He wears a watch for convenience, or a wristband if it's part of a camp or event or something, and that's it. So now he's wearing a fashion accessory on his left hand all the time?? It's weird for me:D ANYWAY. Douglas and team did a GREAT job on this video!! Just had to embed it here for anybody who passes by my blog or still reads my blog:) Ern Kiang & Carolin Full Day Highlight from XD Studios on Vimeo .

8 Oct 2011: Jon & Christel's Wedding Dinner

Image
Unfortunately, I had class from 9am in the morning, and only got home at 2pm. By then, the wedding ceremony had already begun. So I decided to miss the whole wedding and just stay at home to nap. At the dinner that night, it was held at Peach Garden Restaurant at Hotel Miramar. Here's a photo of the bride and her maid of honour (who was tired from "chasing the gown"): Left photo: With my GREAT friends, the wedding coordinators:) Right photo: With Alekx!:) I was amused by the toga-designed top/dress Sharon and Lydia wore to the dinner. So I got them to take a photo together just to show (and remember) the similarity:D With the very pretty maid of honour! With Jolene and Samuel, both my childhood friends! Left photo: Self-shot taken by me, a person who really cannot take self-shots! Right photo: Much more decent self-shot taken by Samuel! It looks a bit weird because I cropped and re-sized it a little so the dimensions are a bit 'off' now. THE FOOD WAS SO...

Looking Back: 2 July 2011 - Linus & Hitomi's wedding ceremony & dinner

Image
The wedding ceremony The wedding ceremony started at 11am at LSBC. It was such a pity that my parents and brother couldn't make it back in time at all because of 2 delays in their flight from Paris to Singapore (they were making their way home from Valencia and had to transit at Paris). Left photo: A shot of the couple taking their vows. Right photo: Linus singing a song to Hitomi. At the wedding reception, I got a photo with the newlyweds (left photo), and took a photo with the girls (left photo). The wedding dinner at The Pines The newlyweds - I loved Hitomi's kimono. It's a shame that Linus did not want to dress in traditional Japanese. Left photo: we took a table shot before Boon Yeow and Faith arrived. Right photo: With Faith. Photos with aunty Ivy and girls: Left photo: with James. Right photo: with Shu-En. With Eugene:
