Singapore-Nottingham

What did I eat/drink in Singapore before I returned to Nottingham? On Tuesday, 20 April, I requested for 'kong ba bao', so Aida prepared it for me! Although I stuffed myself ridiculously silly as there was sooo much! I didn't finish it all though, and we had the rest of it on Thursday night. Anyway, on Thursday, 22 April, I HAD to drink a cup of bubble tea. So, a cup of bubble tea I drank! I was quite amused by the pearls right on top of the cup of hazelnut chocolate ice blended. Usually, the black tapioca balls are at the bottom of the cup. They must have forgotten to put in the pearls right at the beginning! And then on the right, those are all the dishes served for dinner on Thursday! It was a sumptuous 'last' meal before returning to Nottingham. And actually, it really is the last meal prepared by Aida that I'm going to taste. By the time I return to Singapore, her contract would have ended and she would have left Singapore already! After dinner, my sister c...

Yay my parents are back!

My parents arrived back in Singapore Monday night from their fantastic cruise holiday that started and ended at Shanghai. This also means that my 3-week stay here in Singapore is about to end!:( Last night, my brother wanted to eat Japanese food at Tomoe, so the whole family went there for dinner. My parents told us loads about what they did during their holiday, and my dad kept taking all the ginger that came with the dishes. It reached a point where his small dish was half-filled with ginger. And he even took a photo of him trying to eat a whole big bunch of ginger... Do not be deceived by the serious-looking facade that my dad may have!

Work and Play Part II: One-Third [MANYMANY photos]

Looking back on the week that just ended, it looked like it was all play and no work. BUT, I RESPECTFULLY DISAGREE;) Yes, I'm having loads of fun but I'm also making sure I do the work I set out to do while I'm here in SG, i.e. complete my 2 essays. I've finished the bulk of the struggle with both essays by coughing the 1st draft out for both of them, now it is just the reviewing. Anyway, on Thursday, I MET UP WITH ONE-THIRD!! I specially set aside time for this wonderful bunch of people who were my classmates in Junior College. On Thursday, they came over for steamboat dinner and wii session. In the late afternoon, I met Julie and Tina to go to the supermarket together to get the stuff we needed for the steamboat. While at the supermarket, it started raining REALLY heavily, and my fantastic brother actually texted me to ask if we needed a lift back because he could drive out to pick us up. We accepted his offer very gladly and were very thankful. While waiting for my ...

Work and Play [MANY photos]

On Friday (16 April), I stayed home the entire day to work on my essay outline. For dinner, I met some cell group mates at the Thai Express at Heartland Mall in Kovan, which was really really nice. I appreciate Jolene for asking people to come down earlier for dinner, and I am so glad so many of them managed to make it in time! (P.S. Spot the difference between the two group photos) My cell group is really big. So for Word discussion, we'd tend to split into smaller groups previously allocated. Tonight, I was in the same group as Amy, Joanne and Jolene. And at the end of our discussion of the question, all 3 of them immediately took out their phones... I played truckloads of wii over the past weekend. First, I played wii with One-Thirders on Thursday night. Secondly, I played wii with Amy after attending the 9am church service on Sunday, while we were waiting to meet the rest for lunch. Thirdly, I played wii with Amy and a few guys from my cell group after lunch. Fourthly, I played...
