29 July 2011: Gege the Graduant!

Image
On 29 July 2011, Friday, I went down to Suntec City Convention Hall Ballroom 2 to take photos with my brother in his graduation gown! Each graduant only got 2 tickets so only my parents could attend the ceremony. Carolin and I met them at the end of the ceremony to take photos. Oh and I got to catch Tina briefly before she went in for her ceremony! I was so excited and happy to see her:) We then went over to LCP to meet Jiejie and Edmund, and took a few family photos in the conference room, since Jiejie and Edmund couldn't come down to Suntec to meet us. The photos were taken with the DSLR. You can see them on Facebook!:)

Looking Back to Last Weekend: 2: Graduation Party

Image
Jien, the wonderful organiser of sooooo many One-Third gatherings, got us all together at her house to celebrate the graduation of Bella and I on Saturday, 7 August 2010. Tina and Jien met up earlier to go to Cold's Storage at Heartland Mall to get all the ingredients for our brunch. I drove over to pick them up and eventually brought the three of us to Jien's house. Once there, the two of them started preparing the food and I was SOOOO thankful for them. I really really am - am definitely not exaggerating the "O"s behind the "S"s in "so". Here they are preparing the food in Jien's kitchen: Jien's cat, Maki, strolling around the house. He doesn't really respond to Maki, so I tried Sushi, Teppanyaki, Mitsubishi... All didn't work. But, I liked the way Jien talked to Maki like it was a human being who completely understood her, and how Maki just glanced over at Jien and then glanced away as if he couldn't care less because he is i...

Work and Play Part II: One-Third [MANYMANY photos]

Image
Looking back on the week that just ended, it looked like it was all play and no work. BUT, I RESPECTFULLY DISAGREE;) Yes, I'm having loads of fun but I'm also making sure I do the work I set out to do while I'm here in SG, i.e. complete my 2 essays. I've finished the bulk of the struggle with both essays by coughing the 1st draft out for both of them, now it is just the reviewing. Anyway, on Thursday, I MET UP WITH ONE-THIRD!! I specially set aside time for this wonderful bunch of people who were my classmates in Junior College. On Thursday, they came over for steamboat dinner and wii session. In the late afternoon, I met Julie and Tina to go to the supermarket together to get the stuff we needed for the steamboat. While at the supermarket, it started raining REALLY heavily, and my fantastic brother actually texted me to ask if we needed a lift back because he could drive out to pick us up. We accepted his offer very gladly and were very thankful. While waiting for my ...

Mad Rush To Thursday

Image
Every Thursday, when I reach home from school, I heave a big sigh of relief. Thursday is my 'heaviest' day in school where I have my Mental Health Law and Policy seminar from 11-1, then Japanese from 2-4. It is the seminar preparation that makes me put off most things to Thursday evening. This week's seminar, in particular, has ALOT of reading. I have been losing sleep over the readings, trying to complete as much as possible before the seminar today, but still I went into class feeling completely unprepared. Now that Thursday is over and the weekend is here, I am more relaxed now. And hopefully I can get a little bit more sleep. It doesn't help that Wednesday nights are Small Group Meeting Nights that I have to set aside time for, not only for the meeting itself, but before the meeting as well, to pray and prepare and just think through things. In addition, I have been trying to update my CV as I do up applications for training contracts and the Part A Bar Course and E...
